I notice partisans think the opposing media is biased.

All media is biased, as a conservative I mostly watch FOX, but I am under no delusion that there is no bias there.

If you believe that only left/right is biased, congratulations, you are blind!

Most media bias is by omission and thus is for all practical purposes unavoidable since there is no way to cover everything with the given resources - something must be given priority. The editor then either decides what their viewers would most like to see (confirmation bias sells well) or what content they would prefer to stress the importance of (personal preference bias).

I agree with you that all media is biased. Even Fox (and when it comes to Trump, Fox isn't necessarily biased FOR him)

My greatest beef is with the Mainstream Media...which includes Fox, though they are not as blatant as others...blatant and unapologetic attempts to destroy Trump using any means available...even to the point of presenting fake news.

And how do you know the the claims for 'fake news is not fake in and of itself?

LOL!!

I don't speak for ALL claims of fake news. I only speak for MY claims of fake news. And believe me, when I judge something to be fake news and tell you about it, I also tell you why. My claims are not fake.

Aren't they?? Can you show that you what you think is true is not actually fake??

Oh...you want an example of what I think is fake news? Sure.

Yesterday, a BBC reporter sent out a tweet about Trump not listening to the translation of the Italian Prime Minister giving a speech. This picture is from the short clip he posted:

So, of course, the media splashes it all over and everyone talks about how Trump doesn't want to listen to the guy. We even had a thread here at DP about it...with all the usual bad-mouthing towards Trump.

Well, we come to find out that Trump WAS listening. He just wasn't wearing the headphones all the other people were wearing. He was wearing an earpiece in one ear.

Here it is in these pictures:

So...what we got was fake news that really WAS fake news.

I totally agree. Fox is definitely from the right, CNN and MSNBC from the left. But each network tries to give their viewers what they want. The more viewers, the higher their ratings and the more money then can charge for their commercials. Now I hate commercials, so I usually switch back and forth between Fox and CNN. When a commercial comes on one, I go to the other and then back again when the other one has a commercial. When both have commercials at the same time, I even hit MSNBC for a spell.

I do think the reporting of the news is fairly straight forward on both Fox and CNN. It is the guests they bring in to tell us what to make of the news, from their perspective naturally. If both channels, all three if I include MSNBC would leave their guests out of the picture, there would be a lot less bias shown on the cable news networks.

I don't watch any of them at night. Political talk shows straight out of the DNC and RNC aren't my type of thing.

Pretty good assessment. They time the damn commercials so that they more or less run at the same time.
