Why do some people (me) find humor in mean jokes, while others just can't

I love them, even when they're not actually funny in a creative sense. In fact, it's kind of the ****ty ones that are the most funny.
I think it's okay because I'm not laughing at the tragedy.

I'm laughing at the idea of laughing at the tragedy. It's not the jokes, it's the idea that someone would even make a joke like that at all. That's what's funny.

I came up with all sorts of Sandy Hook jokes. I started working on a big list of them as soon as I heard the news of it.
My favorite is... "The school was supposed to be using books, but instead all they got were magazines"... The joke is that magazines are the clips used in assault rifles. It's funny because the gun used to massacre all these children was an AR-15. And that uses a magazine.
Schools use books, not normally magazines. So the joke is a play on words with books/magazines, and the magazines used in the shooting.

'Christina Grimmie was another one, I'd never heard of her before the shooting, so I had a pretty hard time. Most of my jokes weren't funny. Really simple ones like "I bet that show was a blast"
You see, the joke is that "blast" can be used as a synonym for a good time, but also the sound a gun makes. It's funny because play on words.

But boy did I bring my A game in Orlando. I waited no time at all... I bet they were still cleaning up bodies by the time I made my first joke.
What do you call a mass shooting of homosexuals?
A "Heyyy"te crime.
It's funny because sterotypical gay men say "Heyyyy" and the shooting was a hate crime. So I combined them "Heyyy"te crime...
I was like, "How didn't they escape? Didn't this gay club have a "backdoor"..
50 people died.

I get a kick out of unoriginal/uncreative ones too.
I think the reason why is because when the joke is bad (not offensive, but unfunny) it just makes the whole thing seem more "Cheap" and "Crude" and that makes me laugh in it's own sense.
It's funny cause it's like... so not funny. So the ****tier the joke, the more shameless it comes across.

It's not the jokes themselves, it's the idea of the jokes. This is why the jokes don't need to be well written, since the humor comes from the fact that they exist at all

This is why people don't have the same sense of humor as you

Whateverdude, laugh at whatever you think is funny, it should effect anyone or it's their problem. (see how I played with words in the beginning :) )

Agreed, I'm just curious about the psychology of the whole thing.
I thought about it when I was watching Ariana Grande's explosive performance.

There, see, something in my brain caused me to say that and LOL to myself. Most people wouldn't.

Yea, I never got the whole "Too soon" thing.
Don't you wanna be as quick if you wanna be funny. Why wait? It won't be funny anymore if you wait.

Have you heard a funny Hindenberg joke lately? No because it was decades ago when that happened

Some people just don't like things that make them feel bad, that's all it seems to me.

What do you call a 400 pound women with a yeast infection? A whopper with cheese! :lamo

That's not really mean though...
Mean is like...
Manchester Terror Attack: David Leavitt slammed for sick Ariana Grande joke on Twitter | Metro News

This is a mean joke.
"I almost died too after listening to Ariana Grande"
It's funny because he's saying her music is so bad he almost died... But in reality, multiple people died in a bombing attack

Kind of like if you said, "Man that show bombed"... IT's funny because "bombed" means sucked. But there was actually a bomb that blew up and killed people

Well do whatever comedy you like. But don't be too surprised if someone hears it who was affected and knocks a few of your teeth out.

Well, I guess if Eminem can't make it funny for you, then it's just impossible then.

Remember when that guy would offend people because it was fun? Yeah, now he calls other people bigots for the same kind of **** he used to say. It would appear that someone sissified him at some point.

Or maybe he finally grew up?

I never thought he was cool, truthfully.

Nah, he used to be cool, but now he's just another PC retard.

Really?
I mean he called people faggots on his last album
He did the columbine thing uncensored in Rap God. There was plenty of shock stuff on Marshall Mathers LP II
Also
"If I can't batter the women, how am I supposed to make them a cake?"
He's not AS offensive but he's still doing it.

What are you refering to?

I was bull****ting a bit with the cool bit. I respect someone that will speak their mind and not hide behind bull**** feelings all the time. The rest of his **** though was pretty gay to be honest.
