• This is a political forum that is non-biased/non-partisan and treats every person's position on topics equally. This debate forum is not aligned to any political party. In today's politics, many ideas are split between and even within all the political parties. Often we find ourselves agreeing on one platform but some topics break our mold. We are here to discuss them in a civil political debate. If this is your first visit to our political forums, be sure to check out the RULES. When I get my laundry back, I will have been here all of two months. There has been a learning curve as all 'veterans' know. I have become a more thorough member in those two months. I research before responding, check spelling, (sometimes my IOS spellcheck is frustrating), check grammar and punctuation, I steer clear of petty squabbles with those that are way smarter than I, also steer clear of those posts where my knowledge is lacking, there are topics that do not evoke any great emotion and I avoid them. (long sentence, probably grammatically incorrect). There are some posters that are to be avoided, unless you have the entire afternoon to commit to trying to make them see even the most basic of logical arguements, (if the shoe fits......). Anyhow I figure this board keeps crime down in a very small way. Folks here can get their 'jollys' and somewhere a heinous crime has been diffused due to someone being able to vent. Participation is both repulsive and addictive. Cheers!

Such boards as this help people process and vent. The mods do a fine job, imo after a short time here.

There are, and I admit they are few and far between, rare moments when a thread on this board becomes something special. Either through a topic that does not fit partisanship(for example, the Arts and Entertainment, or Sports sections), or one where the discussions are just really fun, among people just shooting the ****. An example of the former was a recent thread asking about anime series(as an anime fan, I was all over that thread like stink on ****), and you had a bunch of people from all walks of life, all ages, all political affiliations having a really pleasant conversation about a shared interest. An example of the latter would be the threads that sprang up each night of the debates last year. Jokes, random partisan arguments, and a feel of a bunch of friends sitting around talking instead of the usual "you are a popopiehead", "no you are" that usually marks most discussions. I will put up with a whole lot of being called a poopiehead, or a libtard, or a socialist(just don't call me a libertarian, thems fightin' words!) in exchange for threads like that.

Sorry, that is probably somewhat off topic of what you wanted to discuss, but it is what I thought of when reading your post.

I wish we had more smart free thinkers who love to have fun...but ya, this is a good place to invest time and energy.

It is the people who make it so.

I'll get my wording on now and then, especially when I start off-topic type, non-political threads. Those are often the most fun to create.

...but, I do not recall ever having one so long that I needed two frames.
