Great White Sharks surround Paddle Boarders in Southern California

Can you imagine hearing a Broadcast from a Helicopter while out on a Paddle Board that at least 15 Great White Sharks have you surrounded?

Do not worry about cleaning excrement from your bathing suit. Should you survive, you can clean up later. Please exit the water calmly.

Exit calmly! Yeah right! Ef me, Ef you, Ef everybody! People seem impressed hearing stories about Jesus walking on water. You could of watched me fly out of the water!
 
I would have broken the paddle board speed record, and I have never been paddle boarding.
 
I just hope that some idiot doesn't go out there and kill them. Sharks are rapidly becoming endangered.

I love seeing them when I scuba dive.

I was pretty close to there this last weekend, but the water was too cold for me, so I didn't go in!

I used to live in cali, and great whites were abundant ther, so much so that you could take a boat out to sea and watch sharks sticking their nose out next to your boat constantly.

Over there though shark attacks were rare, as great whites were much less aggressive than bull sharks, and the sharks there had a ready food supply. Never surfed in those waters or surfed, I fished from a boat, and great white swarms were the norm in certain waters, you would never catch me surfing in those waters.

Ditto, but I do swim (a little) in a fl river!

Florida has a lot of bull sharks though, and they do travel into fresh water, and are very agressive. I am more scared of bull sharks than great white sharks by leaps and bounds.

This is true they can go hundreds of miles up rivers. I fear them more than gators, this only applies in high water, peace river right now is little streams connecting sporadic deeper holes. Using a canoe, is more like dragging a sled. But in 6 months, it can rise 10 feet. I am really leary of swimming at high water, I get in and out!

While rare for a shark to attack a swimmer in Florida waters, we do know it has happened! In the early 1960s, I went to an Elementary School in Miami called Edison Elementary where the kid who ran the film projector, Douglas Lawton, lost his left leg in 1958 to a shark attack in Sarasota.
