Has anyone here taken a real IQ test?

wow tons of gifted people in DP in the top five percentile

You have to remember that people who would use a forum like this are going to be the top percentile. There's a self-selecting bias involved.

You and me both.

Well, the cutoff for Mensa is 132 on the Stanford-Binet. Surprised the hell out of me, I was getting diagnosed for ADHD, wish I was diagnosed back in grade school. I went to Catholic grade school and high school, so I didn't have many choices on elective classes. I did OK and college was easy, but it could have been so much more.

The great thing about these threads is that you'll never see someone posting anything less than 130.
I call it "internet disease". Only the best and the brightest and most discerning of people use the internet, apparently. Virtually nobody admits to eating at McDonald's or Pizza Hut, or shopping at Walmart, yet they're the top players in their game. Somebody must be patronizing those places. And now, when queried, everyone is a fricken genius, even though statistics solidly debunk that idea. I guess all the idiots and low-brow schleps are too dumb to use a computer.

Oh, and to answer the OP's question, I have never taken an IQ test. That I am aware of. I once thought of taking one as an adult, but at this stage in my life I'm not sure I want to know.

If so, what were the results?

I've taken them twice. Once 65 years ago in elementary school. Again a couple years ago when my now 50 YO son and I got curious. He and I were very close.

Surprisingly, my 65 year differences were almost non existent.

Me to, something like 90, I was very young, I turned out to be regarded as intelligent by most who know me. Did it ever occur to them, I was utterly, bored by the test?

I don't care how booksmart you are, what are the fruits of your life?
Well, sure, but I would also stress that there are variables that come together in order to give you a score.

For people with disabilities, the scores can often greatly diverge. On one end you could score average or way above average, then on another, far below average. The composite score is then given, obscuring the highest or lowest figures.

perhaps, yes, none the less, it's impressive

I don't think so. In fact, I'd think it would be surprising if it were any other way.

Yeah, they didn't have IQ tests back when I was a kid, so they just gave me a 2 and told me to get out of there, sweep the trash off the dirt floor, and throw another log in the wood stove. Learnin be's hard.

Back in high school, so around 1980. It was if I remember correctly 149. I suspect it has gone down considerably since...

Your IQ was just a few points above Mozart's! Are you writing symphonies?

I did and I scored a 10 out of 10!

It's out of 10, right?
