I only arrived in April. My question concerns the tone and vibe of this forum from the inception of the 2016 campaign for President, up until election night and in the President elect period. I'm trying to gauge what will happen here if and when there is a major shake up at the highest level. How bad was the partisanship, or were things cordial?

I wasn't going write a thesis, just wanted to see what the temperature of the board was. Thanks for your help. I'm like your guy in that regard, more pictures, less text......

Check any Forum poll on a "Trump" issue.

Simply count the numbers of those who agree with any anti-Trump claim as opposed to those who vote neutral or against.

It's about 98.6. Pretty much average.

"if and when there is a major shake up"??

What on earth makes you think there might...or will...be such a thing...and exactly what IS this major shake up you seem to predict?

Me? I don't see anything major happening anytime soon...or at all.

But tell me, what do YOU think? Where does YOUR partisanship stand?

In any case, what you see now is pretty much what we had here all during the campaign: Media blather being touted by those who didn't like Trump...anti-Hillary talking points being touted by those who didn't like Hillary...reasoned voices, some who supported Hillary, some who supported Trump and some who didn't like either one of them. As far as cordiality...again, pretty much as it is now. We have our reasonable folks, our bomb throwers, those who attack the poster...and those who are combinations of all of them. Oh...and, as always, we have our trolls. I guess you can say it's a mixed bag. I don't know you that well, so I don't know where to place you in the mix.

"Your guy"?

A quick look at your posts and your lean 'conservative', Oh, wait, are you distancing yourself? No one will notice.....

This site isn't the one sided "echo chamber" that many other are and you'll often get rather animated comments from both sides. That isn't likely to stop no matter what happens.

Well...I'm beginning to get an idea where you fit in.

Thanks, that is all I was after. My partisanship is a mixed bag. There is no label I claim. I was/am no fan of HRC. The current CinC
Worries me the longer I listen to him. Leaving out the news outlets cable tv and newspapers. Words from his own mouth and those of his spokespeople do leave me warm and fuzzy. There are a couple of things re: DJT that I approve of, but the entire package is troubling to me. There are many posters here that seem to blindly follow DJT, no matter what the issue. Difficult to keep a civil dialogue when the two sides are so deep seated in their beliefs. I don't have the stamina or time to go 'tit for tat' with someone for 10 or 20 pages of palaver.

As to the shake up, just a feeling I'm getting. I don't do predictions, but I know when a storm is near. Comes with old age....

We just went through an election involving the two worst candidates to ever seek the office. The partisan liberals, predictably, aren't taking it well and the partisan conservatives aren't exactly behaving like model citizens, either.

The liberals have yet to realize that Hillary losing was actually a win of sorts. They don't have to contend with a guy like Donald Trump ****ing up the brand. Had she won the roles would be completely reversed.

Things around any debate forum are not normally "cordial" during a presidential election. DP is no exception. Let's just say that this election and it's aftermath were and are decidedly less cordial than most previous elections.

Whenever major polarizing political events happen things get hairy here, there and everywhere. This past election was particularly un-cordial.

I joined in Dec. I can tell you that the vibe here mirrors the vibe in the place I live (very red), as well as within my extended family except we are all quite cordial. Seems to be uncharted territory. I felt like there were 'freakout societies' built around the Clinton, GWB and Obama presidencies, each one worse than the previous one. This continues the trend, but (and I won't respond to flack for this statement) Trump campaigned on negativity, so I see this as continuation and reaction. It's quite insane, imo, but seemingly intentionally manufactured. And the "media" loves it.

Follow the money. That's the only intelligent advice Limbaugh ever gave.

This. All of this.
