Today my 11-year-old took an important step. It is a crucial rite of passage that every boy must take on their journey toward manhood.

Today, after years of defeat, he finally...beat his mom at arm wrestling.

;)

HOLY ****! Someone give this guy a medal (I can't resist to say that). All jokes aside, your son just had one of the biggest ego strokes he would ever have :).

You have to make sure he does not get too cocky, challenge him to a fist fight to maintain dominance. /s

If hes too big dont challenge him. just pop him out of nowhere. Think Sun Tzu.

So, how many more years do you figure before it's his Pop's turn? ;)

I thought it might have something to do with this being right above the colonoscopy thread... but I'm glad it wasn't. ;)

My son came home one day many years ago with 25 bucks in his hand while pushing my old back up lawn mower. He just turned 14 years old at the time. I was standing at the opening of my garage sipping a beer and watched him come up the street with this strange look in his eye. He just finished mowing a property of a older lady down the street. This was the same kid who I had to threaten with beheading & Crucifixion to just help mom with the grass when I was at sea. ;) He said that he wanted to buy the mower from me so he could try to find more customers, but I gave it to him on the spot and told him to have at it.

I deployed a week later, and when I got home 11 months after, I learned that he had 12 customers in the neighborhood, and a nice little Ford Ranger parked in front of my house while still 6 months away from his learners permit. Momma helped him with the insurance and plates until he was licensed.

Good God. His mom really needs to step it up a notch.

She did make it clear to him that while he may be technically a bit stronger than her now, she is still more than capable of kicking his ass. :)
