What a day. Had a car wreck pulling out of the drive where I work. A guy in a pickup truck came barrelling into the parking lot and hit me almost head on. Got a knot on my head, but otherwise I'm OK. Lots of damage to the car, but it's all on the outside. Frame is good. Engine is good. Probably about 2 thousand bucks worth of damage. I'll know for sure when the adjuster takes a look. It was an Indian guy from England who hit me. He apologized, gave me a lift home, and says he will do what it takes to make this right. With so little damage to his truck, he could have just left the scene and I would have been totally screwed, since the accident itself was on private property. I feel bad about the accident, but I also feel pretty damn good that there are honest people in this world. After he dropped me off at home, I told him that, if we ever meet up again, I will say "Hey, nice running into you again". We both laughed our asses off. LOL.
Now the wait begins for his insurance company to get the process started. Took me almost an hour to get the claim process going, but at least it's started. Now it's time to hurry up and wait. LOL.
UPDATE (And damn, was that fast): As soon as fault is established, I will get a free rental car until mine is fixed. Fixing fault won't be hard at all. The Stafford PD report says the other guy is at fault. Very nice, because my car is going to be in the shop for at least a week, maybe two weeks.
