Unfortunately, there is a tornado warning in my area. What terrible luck on Valentine's day, huh?

At the moment I am hiding out in the bathroom with my parents and dogs. My sister just texted me, and she said she is under severe weather procedures at school right now. Hopefully she'll be okay. I'm a bit scared right now, tbh. Always been afraid of tornadoes, though I've never been in a situation like this before.

Here's hoping the weather just passes us by.

As long as you aren't wearing ruby red slippers you should be OK.

Buckle down and hold on tight.

I hope the weather just passes you by too. I've been in a lot of tornado warnings and they can be pretty scary. I would just advise to keep watching the news or a live radar and just be aware of the weather around you.

Holy crap. Had a tornado here at work in Stafford. Went outside to try and take a video or picture of it, but too dark and too much wind. Got back inside and all hell broke loose. Took cover under my desk until it passed. The iron beams of the building were creaking. Went into the garage area. Ceiling had collapsed, but the roof was OK. Big mess to clean up. I hear sirens now. Going to forward the phones to the answering service and drive around for a few minutes and see what I can see. I'm OK. And still have electricity, so I wasn't in the direct path of whatever that was.

I have never seen a major tornado. Can you watch it from afar and go to shelter, if it turns towards you?
But is a bathroom safe? I actually have no idea. But have a safe passage.

When I lived in Houston, tornadoes came down 43rd street three different times. Amazed me that they could develop in the same spot three times. I lived near 34th street, so they were a real menace. Strange to watch those clouds moving in two or more different directions whey they're forming. Gald your damage was minimal

If you are a ways away from a twister, you can get out of the path of it by traveling perpendicular to the direction it is going. I leaned this when I made 2 trips with storm chasers while a student at the University of Houston.

Stay safe, have to look at the nat'l radar, it's beautiful here in N. FL.

Its entirely appropiate to receive a bj on valentines day

In all seriousness i hope you and your family get through it safely

Office building a few blocks down the street on Greenbriar got a direct hit. Blew out every window in the building, and all the drop ceilings inside were torn to shreds. Offices there are now knee deep in insulation, but the good news is there were no injuries.

I'm good. Thankfully we didn't get hit.

Tornadoes both fascinate me and terrify me at the same time.

Glad you're OK, TG. I know that feeling of tornado warnings, and it is not a good one.

Just had a thought. If I was a boss in that building, and an employee told me "A tornado ate my homework", I don't think I would fire him. LOL.

Sunny. A few clouds. Warm. Gonna go do some golfing in a couple of hours. :)

Final count on today's tornadoes - 1 death, and 3 injuries. Could have been a lot worse. The death was a teenage girl who had just gotten her driver's license. She swerved to avoid the tornado, and ran into an 18 wheeler. One of the injured is in critical condition with spinal injuries. She sacrificed herself by throwing herself on top of her 2 children. Say a prayer for her as well as the others.

Whatever you do never go near a trailer park tornadoes are magnetically attracted to them!!!

No but seriously stay safe, if the sky turns green it is a bad omen. If you hide in the bathroom(probably the safest spot inside a house in a tornado if you do not have a cellar) a piece of advice is to stay low, shrapnel and flying objects often can kill more than an actual tornado. The lower the profile, the less likely to be hit.

hope that everyone is ok. i am not a fan of severe weather.
