Rip 2016

wow

congratulations to you

2016 the year of the multiple epiphanies... lucky you

Ya, I will save that for another thread....I got caught not looking at the thread before I responded, this is not about what I thought it was.

he's dead, and you are alive and embracing it...seems appropriate regardless

:party

there was no disrespect on your part

Maybe.... The problem is that I had just come in from a glorious walk with my very old dog, she who is rallied on her new meds, though we know it wont last for many months at best. I had been thinking about what a great year this has been.

Anyways, this is what I did, though I am like a week too early:

My best year in a long time from a quality of life standpoint, which is about all I care about. Not working has opened up so much time to explore internally and externally, to pursue my abundant curiosity. The food has never been better. The sex has never been better. The marriage has never been better. I am getting more joy out of the simple things like walking the dog than I have in near 20 years. I got to watch Trump put on a political seminar.

I am a little scared that 2017 wont measure up.

It's been a good year for me too. I try not to let the death of strangers bother me--even the deaths of celebrities, who are really just strangers after all. For me a good year is when no one I love dies or gets sick.

Do you realize that 2/3's of emerson, lake and palmer passed way this year?

and the morons in the R&R Hall of Fame haven't recognized them?

Considering the subject of this thread, and the fact it IS Christmas eve, I think this little single by Greg Lake is appropriate

yeah, I posted the version from the Church where he plays this with Sir Ian Anderson. His voice was much better in your version though

most of us don't really care either but it just makes us uncomfortable to know we could pass away at any moment.

Sure. it can happen to any of us. But, GM lived a pretty risky lifestyle. That he died young is no real surprise to me.

curse of too much money

I read an article about him about 5 years ago. Dude popped pills like candy. That'll catch up with ya in a hurry. And, swallowing drugs was probably the least risky of his recreational activities.

friend of mine I hadn't talked to in years died at age 62 this year

hydrocodone pills

he used to be able to pass for 20 years younger than his age

RIP George Michael... and 2016 still sucks.

Booze will do that too. Nasty what happens to people who drank too much for decades.

People die. Every day. Welcome to reality.

Carrie Fisher died. :(

And now her mother, Debbie Reynolds. It just won't stop.
