I hate it with a burning white hot passion.

I also hate the winter wind.

My wet hand stuck to a metal rail yesterday, good thing it wasn't my tongue.

Three months of me opening the kitchen door to let my cat out who's sitting there waiting to go outside. Open the door, cat peers out to see and feel the cold icy air only to turn around to go back to his warm bed. Repeat 10-15 times a day. I hate winter and don't care much for my cat either!

I really dislike the itchy dry skin that comes with winter and the subsequent constantly running heater. I live in south Texas damnit.

We have had some days this Dec in the mid 70's which is great, a few days in the cold 60's which is not so great, but no frosts or freezes.

As for Winter Solstice, every year, the Irish Center (really nice castle and hall and genealogy library downtown) has a celebration, with all kinds of druid fun...ren faire losers and beer, wine, whiskey and music. Should be a fun night again.

We need more of this, or even some of this, in Delaware.

We have a beautiful Irish center and community here. They built a 4 story library along with the music hall. And, it is located on the border of a very large public park in downtown Phoenix, so the St. Patrick's Day festival has a ton of space, and it also borders the Japanese Garden which is a beautiful oasis, a great place to just sit by the pond and the bamboo and chill out.

Also...today is Frank Zappa's birthday, there will be much rejoicing.

Santa Fe... You get the snow but the cold is very moderate. Nothing like east coast cold. I can walk around in 40 degree whether with a short sleeve shirt on no problem because the sun is almost always out.
