There needs to be a recall involving millions of vehicles. The faulty part keeps he signal lights from working. Often, the lights don't come on at all. Sometimes, they don't go off, causing the vehicle to signal an impossible turn, or, worst, fooling other drivers into thinking that a right turn is coming.

The part is universal, so far nearly every car has one, though they are beginning to be phased out in some models.

This part sits directly behind the steering wheel. It not only affects the turn signals, but can cause the accelerator to malfunction, resulting in either racing or poking along in an inappropriate lane. It can also affect the brakes, making the vehicle run stops signs and red lights.

It's high time the manufacturers announced a recall.

Let me guess, you had to drive past a shopping mall today?
