Why allow people to travel to and from terrorist countries?[W:29]

Re: Why allow people to travel to and from terrorist countries?

Fledermaus, in order for me to admit I'm wrong you have to...

Wait no, you're not capable of ****.

Shut your mouth.

That's quite rude. How dare ye?

Re: Why allow people to travel to and from terrorist countries?

We are not a police state. (Well according to some we are)

Nor is making countries off limits really effective. A legit trip to Mexico followed by a jump to Havana was all it took.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

Been there; done that.

Knock it off. Stick to commenting about the topic and leave each other out of it.

Which is good advice for the thread. Y'all are not the topic of the thread.

Total isolation is some level of isolation. No isolation is also some level of isolation. I said eternal vigilance required total isolation. Instead of debating the point, you are delivering insulting rhetoric. I think that speaks to your level of appreciation for debate. I am not wrong for making a point.

Where did THAT come from?

Recognizing that some Muslims radicalize is not a condemnation of all Muslims.

Extreme sarcasm.

Sorry, Governess. I noticed that you're back with a vengeance.

Yes, I am back with a vengeance.

I pull up to the scene like:

Re: Why allow people to travel to and from terrorist countries?

I just thought of a reason to ban travel to terrorist countries: For their own good. There's those of us (your's truly included) that like to see a good train wreck. The temptation is there to visit a few hell-holes. The next thing you know, there's a family crying to the government to retrieve their relative that's locked up in a totalitarian country.

There's a pattern. People leave this country to visit in Pakistan, wherever, stay a while, get radicalized and come back. Wreaking havoc on their return. Why not restrict length of stay? Or make some countries off limits?

must we be our own worst enemies?

A free and open society has to accept a certain amount of inherent risk.

Have no fear, Trump is here..

He will stop it..
