Audience protester rushed the stage at Ryan Lochte tonight on Dancing with the Stars

Re: Audience protester rushed the stage at Ryan Lochte tonight on Dancing with the St

The last thing Ryan Lochte needs to be is in the public spotlight.

What's wrong with him?

His little stunt at the Rio Olympics. That's what's wrong with him.

You judge him?

Re: Audience protester rushed the stage at Ryan Lochte tonight on Dancing with the St

You judge him?

Yes I do. He went and lied to the Brazillian authorities about the incident that occurred.

And frankly, I don't even understand why he went to the police with the false story in the first place.

That and he's the very definition of a basic bro.

You know that he lied for sure? Maybe he was trying to protect himself? Be careful for the ice of judgment is thin.

Yes, the robbery story that he gave to the Brazilian authorities was false.

What had actually happened was he (and his buddies) vandalized a bathroom inside a gas station, and the security guards made him pay for the damages.

I have no idea why Lochte decided to go to the police and claim he was robbed.

Let's see, he vandalized a bathroom. Agreed. He was forced to pay money for it, (extortion)? Seems like there's two wrongs here? If we want to be completely honest and unbiased. Huh?

Re: Audience protester rushed the stage at Ryan Lochte tonight on Dancing with the St

That protestor was mugged by Brazilians when no one was looking.

Not the way I see it. Lochte & Friends damaged the bathroom. Expecting them to pay for the damages to the property is completely understandable.

And if Ryan really thought he was extorted out of money, then she should have went to the authorities with that, instead of making up a BS story where he was robbed at gunpoint.

But he was robbed at gunpoint. If the authorities wanted to charge him and friends for a crime and then legally process them that would've been acceptable but not on the spot justice. It reeks of cowboy law and not court sponsored legality.

He wasn't robbed at gunpoint. You do realise there is video evidence showing proving that Lochte's story was a fabrication, right?

But even after paying compensation for the damages, for some reason he decided to go to the police and falsely report a crime.

He didn't have a gun pointed at him and asked for money? Even though he did exaggerate the truth, did he really falsely report a crime? Let's give the reality of it the ultimate truth and not our biased speculations? I would respect that more.

Yes, he falsely reported a crime Ryan Lochte will be suspended 10 months, source says - CNN.com

Authorities said there was no robbery, but security guards had drawn guns and stopped the swimmers from leaving after they vandalized the gas station. The money was to pay for items that were broken, they said.

Ryan Lochte charged by Brazilian authorities

The money was to pay for items that were broken?

I do not know what their law says, but the claim that money was demanded under threat of lethal force (by gun) hasn't changed, and under our laws that would be being robbed (as in extortion) at gunpoint.

Just to point out, 1) There are places in the U.S. that police can legally collect ticket money right then and there.
2) Brazil is not the U.S.

If this had happened in America (I'm not sure about Brazilian laws), he would have been 100% correct in claiming that he had been robbed. He was held at gunpoint by the security guards and had money demanded of him. That act would be considered armed robbery here. Just because he had a moral and possible legal obligation to pay for the damages doesn't give the guards the right to hold him at gunpoint and demand money. In this country, we have a process for that and it's doesn't include demanding compensation at gun point by private citizens (that's called vigilantism). Now Brazil may have different laws than we do and such action may be considered perfectly legal, but by our laws, he was most certainly robbed at gunpoint, the fact that he should have paid for the damages and there ample evidence to support that, it is in fact, a judge's decision and not a security guard's.

1. Having the ability to collect a fine is not the same thing as demanding money money at gun point. So the point is irrelevant.
2. This point of yours suggests you didn't actually see what I said. What I said was, "I do not know what their law says," which is clearly an indicator that it is known that a different nation is being spoken about.

Maybe the azzhat should have shown a little respect while being hosted by a foreign country.

#1) Why does anybody give two flying F's about Dancing With The Stars?
#2) Why does anybody give two flying F's about Ryan Lochte being on that stupid show?
#3) Why does anybody give two flying F's enough to try to "protest" his being on that stupid show?
#4) I wouldn't be surprised to find out Lochte paid those "protesters" to stage that whole event.

Seriously - who really cares?

We're both commenting here about it, so I guess we do care. Seriously though I've never really understood the appeal of this show and I watch some pretty crappy TV.

But it is great publicity to keep him and and even better for some nut to protest. Keeps people talking about it.

Re: Audience protester rushed the stage at Ryan Lochte tonight on Dancing with the St

Geeeeeezus. This has been so completely twisted.

This was essentially the final finding of fact as posted on CNN "Early on August 14, the group stopped a Rio gas station to use the bathroom and, finding the door locked, urinated behind the building, during which time Lochte reputedly tore down a framed poster from the building's wall."

thats it.

After that, 2 armed guards pulled guns on the 4 and threatened them if they didnt give up money for the 'damage'. Thats on video. It is undeniable. Essentially...thats it.

Now...fast forward. DWTS has Ryan Lochte on as an invited guest. They know what happened and they invited him anyway. As an invited guest he is welcome there and WANTED there. The two douchebags that were 'protesting' werent wanted there and had no business being there. And lets stop for just a second and examine just how completely ****ed up you have to be to be so upset about this incident that you go get T-shirts made up and then assault the guy on national TV. WTF is wrong with people that they run around being so 'offended'? For that matter...why is it that people here are so passionate about the Lochte incident? Was it stupid/ Sure...but have you actually seen videos of the guy talking in just normal day to day life?
