A strong signal from a neighboring solar system has E.T. seekers speculating

We don't need to spend that kind of money to learn humility.

The amount of money we spend on space exploration is minimal compared to some of our other ventures.

Not to mention it's actually highly profitable. Just ask SpaceX.

You're making generalizations now. We're talking about SETI, get it?

Is SETI not part of space exploration all of a sudden?

Are you trying to be obtuse? I was talking about SETI only. Are we clear now? I am, and I'm done.

I'm sure YOU can, I'm so sure you can support cutting defense to nothing (even though it is #1 on the Constitution to-do list), and social programs (not on the Constitution to-do list) and space exploration (not on the Constitution to-do list). I know liberals are good at everything EXCEPT what the founders thought the purpose of the Constitution was. You don't have to tell me, I've known you for years.

If you knew all this, your previous questions were disingenuous.

Since I support zero national defense, you must support infinity national defense. This is how the world works, according to American.

THAT is a good question.

It's a strange question because nobody is saying it's important to think of yourself as insignificant.

You're a typical liberal who rather spend the money elsewhere, don't be coy. Admit it.

In a way I do but that only applies to myself. It's not that it's really important to me but in a way it has to be because once you start thinking in terms of the universe and how long it's been here or will be here or even the size you can't help, at least myself, feel insignificant and if you don't like it you might not keep going and discovering new things and information.

One of my favorite quotes is Carl Sagan "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known". It's just so true.

Wow, so you're doubling down on the idea that I actually support zero national defense. Don't be coy. Admit it.

I want to cut defense spending. Not cut it to zero. That's idiotic, and if you think I want to cut it to zero you must therefore be an idiot. You're not an idiot, are you?

Nice dodge for a personal attack. You're obviously an expert at this tactic.

It's not a dodge. I refuted your claim.

I do not want to cut defense spending to zero.

It's right there in the post.
