I’m sure most folks out their love summer, I like the greenery and all that but I can’t stand the heat and humidity. I’m not sure what it is with me, it’s not medical or size but I just seem to generate heat. I don’t know what I would do without A/C it’s a must have at home and in any vehicle for me. Last winter I think I wore my jacket twice, and both times was more to keep me dry during a heavy snow storm. I rarely get cold or shiver, in memory maybe two or three times in my life and that was due to the flu.

I asked my doctor about this over the years and he has tested my thyroid and other functions multiple times but everything is fine. It guess it could be that I just don’t condition myself to the heat. Well, that doesn’t explain why I don’t get cold even in below freezing temps. I have had to adjust my life to this over the years, I needed to install a very high efficiency water source A/C system to not go broke keeping the house at 66 degrees during the heat of summer, I needed to zone that same system to keep other rooms more comfortable for normal folks/kids. I don’t get many power outages but if I do, I’m ready with my DIY off grid cooling units made from Igloo coolers.

So at this time of year I have had enough, bring on the snow and the below freezing temps.

PS: do any know of others like me? Anyone that lives below the arctic circle?

My wife has been complaining similarly this summer. I asked her when she became such a wuss.

I still have a bruise on my shoulder. :(

I haven’t had much luck with people wanting to go winter camping with me. Who is the wuss?

I always thought that would be a good survival exercise.

I'm a heater, too. My wife will be under covers, while I'm buck naked, spread eagle, on top, trying to keep cool.

In the winter, I set the thermostat to 58 degrees at night, just so I can get under the covers, too. If it weren't for the kids, I'd set it lower. I lived in FL for a while, in sunny Sarasota, truly a beautiful place.,.but I hated it. Too hot, too humid, too long. I used to swim all year round down there.

The wife says she ends up half cold at nights when I'm under the covers with her...I radiate so much heat that one side is hot, and the other cold.

Great term “heater” I need to have a fan blowing on my bed to keep it under control. Maybe it’s some sort of left over DNA or genes that makes us impervious to cold and adversed to hot and humid.

Most wussies don’t make the snowshoe trek into the camp site, they get a little chilly and want to go home.

Sorry dude, aside from the power bill for the A/C I could live in a tropical forest year round.
90 temps don't bother me, I can nap like a baby in hot and humid.

I’m jealous, when I was a boy I lived in Boca Raton Florida, we wouldn’t even swim in the winter, I’m now an Eskimo searching for snow, go figure.

Where is winter camp? What type of camping?

It’s a stone throw away from my cabin. Wait,,,, you are the one stalking and researching me, If you have a question about me just ask, there is no need for dissipation and dishonesty.

Yes, I do.. one of my coworkers moved to Northern vermont to reduce the heat (work at home job)... and she still gets uncomfortable if it gets up to 70.

I am from Boston/Maine, and retired outta the Navy in Va. Beach.

I hate the summers in coastal Virginia.

I love the fall, winter, and spring. Beautiful temps, no tourons, and great Striper fishing.

I have always liked the cold rather than the heat, and since childhood my favorite season has been fall, signalling that the heat and the humidity of Rockford Il summers was over. I am now actually intolerant of heat, in part because of diabetes and in part because of the drugs I am on. Anything above 85 is a problem for me. I was in New Orleans last Aug which was a mistake, I had to spend almost all of the time inside or in the pool, which was great fun, but I could not get out and see much.

One great thing about Olympia Wa is that on the rare days we get above 90 I can escape to the ocean side, which is normally a lot cooler. A week ago Sat Oly was 97, Ocean Shores 90 minutes away where I went had a high of 75.

I'm like you. On really cold days I might wear my beloved denim jacket, but I love the cold--love the way the air smells, love being cold. Hardly ever turn on the heater in winter, and even then, I shut my bedroom door, open the bathroom window, and have a fan on.

I cannot bear heat and humidity. I always figured it's because I lived in Michigan and Minnesota when I was little.

I like the seasons. I like spring and fall for outdoor activities. Give me the 70 degree days and 40 to 50 degree nights.

Tired of summer? well good this winter is shaping up to be one of the coldest ever. In texas midway through august which is our hottest and dryest month, we were getting into the mid 80's tops, and rain storms like crazy, mind you in this part of texas until recently has not rained in august since over a 100 years ago.

Top that off with the fact it is shaping to be a record hurricane year, alot of the country is going to see record rainfall followed by record cold snaps. this is el nino transitioning into la nina.
