In response to the OP, if I had enough money that pissing away 4 mil wasn't a big deal, Hell yea I'm buy the Lambo.

50-60 grand will get you an Ariel Atom. Even quicker 0 to 60, holds the world record for 0-100-0 and is easier to get in and out of :lol:
Plus it just doesn't get much cooler than open chassis.

Even if I were a billionaire I think I would keep my care in the five figures. But I'm not a big car person either.
 
If I had that kind of money to spend on a car, I think I'd go with some variant on the Bugatti Veyron.

I'm pretty sure that the base Veyron will outperform the Lamborghini mentioned in the OP in every respect, and I think it costs less than half the price of the Lamborghini. The Veyron Super Sport currently is the fastest street legal production car in the world, and I think it still costs considerably less than the Lamborghini. I wonder if the upcoming SuperVeyron will still cost less than the Lamborghini; it probably will. It supposedly will do 0-62 MPH in 1.8 seconds, and have a top speed of 288 MPH.
 
No, I don't even think it's that good looking of a car to be honest. If I won a ton of money in the lottery or something, I probably wouldn't spend that much on a car. Maybe a couple hundred grand to get something nice, but not 4 million.

I also find it odd that they included the Alfa Romeo 4C in that list of most expensive cars. I'm pretty sure those things are only supposed to cost like 70 grand. They're fun as hell to drive though.

I'm modest about my yacht play and do not feel the need to have a flag to tell everyone I am chillin the most. Kid Rock can have his glory and his coast line, I'll be in the tropics.

0-60 in 3 seconds isn't even that fast anymore, most supercars can do it. The new Bugatti Veyron does it in about 2.5 seconds. These cars aren't made for driving around, they're made for status. It's not like you could ever own one anyhow, Ferrari is only making 3 of them.

I don't think I could ever own such a fancy car. I would be so paranoid about it all the time. I also cannot even imagine spending so much on a car that goes much faster than I could ever drive around here.

These cars are made for promotion, they're not production vehicles. They probably lost money on every $3.9 million car they made.
 
If I was gonna spend 50k on a car, it would be a Cobra kit, tube frame, tricked 427. With nitrous, it should get into the 3s 0-60. I figure if Ima buy an adult go-cart, why play games about it.

If I was gonna spend millions on a car, same thing + flying (or at least rocketing and parachute).

No. I don't really get the point.

You'll never see what it can really do. At a certain point, the specs just get beyond what is actually usable for someone who isn't a professional driver, and what's even legal for them to do.

The other thing is that, honestly... people who drive around in those kinds of cars look pretty silly. It reminds me of Andy in Toy Story wearing his Buzz Lightyear box costume. "To infinity, and beyond!"

I'm a bona fide car-guy, but I can't see spending more than a quarter mill on a single car. Even if I was a billionaire, I might be satisfied with a pair of $35k cars.

I don't think I would buy that specific make or model but if I had the money? I would drive a lot of nice cars and decide only after driving them.

I wouldn't rule any of them out before that. :)
