[h=1]Trump's quest to kill Obamacare hurts the middle class[/h]
...
Like their peers in many states around the nation, Utah's insurers are steeply hiking rates for next year in partbecause they anticipated President Trump would stop funding a key set of Obamacare subsidies that help lower-income enrollees afford health care. Trump lived up to his vowearlier this month when he announced that he would end the cost-sharing payments.
...
The middle class, who aren't protected from the rate hikes like those of more modest means.
Yup, if you are a middle class person that voted for Trump, you fell for his con, which not only included this but also, making it impossible to sue financial companies that cheat you.

Didn't President Trump campaign against Obamacare during the primary and general election for president?
Time after time he said he supported repeal and replace. Tell Arizona about healthcare cost rising. Their rates for
insurance went up 116%.

The subsidies are illegal payments. Congress never authorized this expenditure. That means it's illegal to disperse the money.

It generally costs money to be taken in by a conman. The mystery is how so few of his backers realize that they've been conned.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to investigate, because when your head does not match up with reality it is your head that is wrong 100% of the time.

No, Trump did not run on promising to take away millions of people's health insurance, raising the premiums and blowing up the insurance market. What Trump promised was:

On 60 Minutes in September of 2015, Trump vowed that everyone would be covered if he won. “I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.”

"Obamacare. We're going to repeal it, we're going to replace it, get something great. Repeal it, replace it, get something great!"

Trump reiterated his pledge that every American would get coverage at a February 2016 MSNBC town hall. “We’re going to take care of them. We’re going to take care of them. We have to take care of them. Now, that’s not single payer. That’s not anything. That’s just human decency.”

“You will end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that will take place immediately after we go in. Immediately! Fast! Quick!” he told supporters at a Las Vegas rally that month.

“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us."

“I was the first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid”

As for the excuse, yes excuse, that the payments are illegal, instead of going to Congress and asking for an appropriation, he decided to up-end the insurance marketplace.

The only one that got conned was Hillary because the media told her she was the next president. NOT!
Well and maybe a few million of her followers.

The Trump supporters continue to defend the indefensible. They are probably in the, "Trump said he would do 'x' but we knew he really meant he would not do 'x'" mode.

It's funny, as long as you aren't one of the shafted.

Should I just sit back and laugh at the suckers or feel sorry for them?

It's a mixture of denial (e.g. I couldn't have been that stupid, so I must have been right last November) and cognitive dissonance. Some of it is tribal hate of liberals -- to the extent that Trump supporters will let Trump crap in their mouths -- and get the satisfaction that liberals will have to smell it.

This Op-Ed lists the stuff that Trump & Co. (literally company) has screwed his very supporters. If those supporters keep this tribal mindset and reject facts and deny what Trump is actually doing to them, there is no hope for the country.

Trump is delivering America to the 1% wealthy elite, to the Wall Street whores, to monopolies and corporations, to religious dogma, to kleptocracy and oligarchy, and to the polluters of our air, waters and lands.

And 38% still support him. I find that the shocking part.

Why didn't the liberals fix this before trump came along?

Long enough to do absolutely nothing to help the former President

How long have they had the congress?

Sour grapes.
The ACA was passed in 2010, to go into effect in 2013.

The GOP has passed 100 bills since 2011 to repeal the ACA. They had no interest in making it better -- just a show to their base that they want it repealed. Then, when they actually control the Congress and WH, failed to do it because it would wreck everything.

The TEAts have been in control of the House since 2011 ...

You had a congress that passed a bill into law with illegal subsidies.

And know your side wants to whine about millions and millions people because you all thought the cash cow would last forever.

Your side should have passed a law that was beyond reproach.

Whether or not people have ACA insurance, we are still going to be paying the bill. Just a lot more without it.

It was, until the courts ruled otherwise. Now where is the replacement we have been hearing about for 7 years. Is your party that incompetent?

My premiums has tripled in order to offset the costs of obamascare.
From $125.00 to $537.00 a month.
Sure I shopped around for cheaper payments yet the deductibles and co pays are higher and not easy to meet.
This obamascare must be stopped hard and replaced. I do NOT want to pay for something for "others" to use.

I think that $ 600 a month for health insurance is relatively low for total care. I certainly pay more in a country with less high standards of medicine for the middle class.

I am part of the middle class and this obamascare is hitting me hard in the wallet.
I don't mind if my monthly premiums goes up $50 to $100,but over $400 more is unacceptable.

See? Yet another Trumpeteer who doesn't realize he was conned.
