Tuesday Group leader under fire over health care deal

They're going to vote tomorrow on bringing back pre-existing condition exclusions and penalties. And tossing 20-30 million out of their current coverage. And a trillion dolllar tax cut for the wealthy coupled with $880 billion in Medicaid cuts. Weakening Medicare's finances. Substantially higher premiums for older, sicker, and rural folks. Higher deductibles (after decrying them for so long!).

Not hard to see the political storm coming.

Vote!

You're on top of it! I think this bill is DOA in the Senate though. If it's not, it's going to piss off all the gullible people who believed Trump when he said, "I'm gonna take care of everybody"

They're incapable of governing.

People who routinely blame government for all the problems in life shouldn't be tasked with managing government.

I have to admit I agree with that.

At a recent political meeting.. a republican (real right wing) politician was talking about how "the government can't do it right"...

And when he said that I stood up and said... "you know.. whenever I hear a politician say "government can't do it anything right".. I think "BUT HEY, YOU ARE THE GOVERNMENT!" MAYBE THE REASON GOVERNMENT DOESN"T RUN RIGHT IS BECAUSE WE HAVE THE WRONG PEOPLE IN GOVERNMENT!".

I got a laugh and a lot of clapping for that one.

Of course my colleague leaned over to me and said "well I guess we can count on not having his support on the healthcare legislation we need passed".
