There is a lot of talk and outright laughing about how the Republicans had 7 years to come up with a replacement plan for Obamacare.....and the American Healthcare Act (Trumpcare) was the best they could come up with.

So, my fellow Democrats that are in Congress...what the hell are you doing?

I think they need to get on point with the things that can be addressed. This needs to be done PUBLICLY so the public understands you are open to change. I want to hear from them publicly (loud and clear) what issues with Obamacare you are open to adjusting.

I know of NO Democrat in Congress that thinks Obamacare is perfect. Obamacare was a foot in the door.

If there is no reaching across the aisle....I want to know....what legislation are you proposing when you do get back in power? If you laugh at the Republicans for having 7 years and that was the piece of crap they came up with......what are you trying to come up with when it is your time.

Personally, I think any legislation is going to be tainted as long as our lawmakers accept bribes....er....uh...contributions from insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies....etc. Contributors should be well known . Currently through PACS and such they can be anonymous. But IMHO....and legislator on either side of the aisle that accepts contributions from parties standing to benefit should be prohibited from voting. Conflict of interest.

Lots of thoughts going through my head on this.

If you don't have skin in the game chances are you will not have invested enough energy and time into understanding it to have a useful opinion. That is why lobbying is so important to good legislation.

Can you lobby without shoving millions of dollars into the pockets of our lawmakers????

That is the problem. I have no problem with them having discussions with our lawmakers. But they do not have to line the pockets of our lawmakers. Clearly and emphatically this goes for Republicans AND Democrats.

This should be a "duh" moment.
