Looks like Obamacare is nearly done, assuming no republicans back out.

The Republican push to repeal Obamacare is going on a fast track under a procedure that would make minority Democrats powerless to stop it, the first Republican congressman to endorse President-elect Donald Trump said Friday.

Among those provisions Collins said would get repealed were a tax on medical devices that helps pay for the plan, a provision requiring employers to provide Obamacare to employees who work 30 hours or more, the mandate for employers to provide coverage, and a mandate for employees to obtain some type of coverage.

Yes. only requires 51 votes, though. filibuster is not possible. If you recall from when Obamacare was originally passed and Kennedy died.

I would suggest fixing it then taking it apart, otherwise Millions would be thrown off their coverage, such as it is. It is good that the plan on many issues is to move quickly, but too quickly without considering the results could spell disaster.

Oh, I agree. The young and healthy are opting to pay the penalty for noncoverage. The rates are rising exponentially. Putting the entire burden of covering pre-existing conditions on those in the program rather than general revenue is too onerous.

My new motto is Put America First. Before illegal immigrants, before refugees, before foreign aid, before globalization. Let us work to put our own house in order. Obamacare is broken. Let's find a way to fix it.

I agree and have been preaching the same message for years. Why on earth are send Billions to other Nations, some of who hate us, when we do not have enough to pay our own bills, that complete nonsense. Why are we paying for services for people that are Not Even Supposed To Be Here, it is like a pack of people moving into your home uninvited and expecting you to support them, WTF. Hopefully we will finally get a government that actually uses better budgetary methods to resolve the many issues we have, yes, it will hurt to get things back on the track but right now the Nation is bleeding out and if we do nothing then we are done, plain and simple. I will wait and see if there actually is hope or if I should take on more of the bunker attitude, only time will tell but time is another thing we are running short on.

I just wish the obedient Obamacare haters would start all their posts with "sure, 20 million more Americans have health care coverage, it lowers the deficit and increases the quality of care but its broken because......." It just seems to be another narrative conservatives cling to that requires them to ignore the facts.

The Repubs were the Opposition, and didn't think ACA was a good idea. Now they'll get a chance to show why their ideas are better. We shall see.

I read the article, uh, Vern. It is indicative of the practices of the democrats in the House, which they also used to get the ACA through. You know it. Don't play your games. The ACA is collapsing, and anyone without partisan blinders on can see it. The mess is yours and your party's. Own it instead of getting cute. It's not flying.

mmmm, I see you are not acknowledging the fact that you whined about mean ole dems locking republicans out of meetings but you posted an article about locking them out of meeting rooms when no meeting was being held. So no, I don't think you read the article. And don't forget, by your standards I've more than proven republican obstructionism concerning Obamacare.

Are you being dense naturally, or is this intentional? I can forgive the former. They changed the locks Vern. They didn't issue keys to republicans. And if you bother to read the CSPAN comments I posted afterward, you'd realize that perhaps you are the only person on the entire planet that may be trying to contend that the democrats did not hold their meetings in secret. The only person, Vern. That makes you special.

I see you are not acknowledging the fact that you whined about mean ole dems locking republicans out of meetings but you posted an article about locking them out of meeting rooms when no meeting was being held. I dont have to ask why because when it comes time for conservatives to choose narrative or integrity, they always choose narrative. As far as not televising the negotiations to hammer out the differences in the two Obamacare bills that had been passed, I'm just going to yawn and point out that you're still not acknowledging the fact that you whined about mean ole dems locking republicans out of meetings but you posted an article about locking them out of meeting rooms when no meeting was being held.
