New York state governor says woman in her 30s returned from Iran, as China announces just 200 new cases.

Well, this is now confirmed as not being a hoax in the U.S. And this victim was likely young & healthy otherwise.

Interesting facts pop up when you start looking at the data. First it seems that active cases are actually down versus a couple of weeks ago. Something we do not hear much about. Also the mortality rate is much lower if you less than 50 years old. Also death rate is high for people with heart disease diebetes not so much for others.

That's true, but it's because China has so dominated the cases that what happens there is the trendline for the total. What worries WHO and others is this graph, which are all cases outside of China.

Granted. I would hazard a guess that the numbers outside of China will rise. That being said as of now the rise will be from very small numbers. If we were tracking only the U.S. the headlines would not be as spectacular as they now.

Unlike Trump, don't believe it is totally partisan,although he has made it personal with some of the media. Rather, media is now a form of entertainment and has been for a couple of decades. Some want to hold onto the quaint thought they are there to inform us.

That data is actually very reassuring. It shows that the death rate inside China is 3.6%, outside it's 1.45%. China's high death rate is because of that local province where the virus originated. There's something about the dynamics there locally that made it look more like a poisoning.

The media seems intent on proving over and over again that they cannot be trusted. Having botched their sky-is-falling Russia, Ukraine, and the infamous “two scoops” scandal, they are now all-in proclaiming—completely incorrectly—that President Trump called the coronavirus a hoax.

He did not. In fact, their response to what Trump actually said demonstrates perfectly the point he was making.

The media’s baseless attacks on Trump regarding the coronavirus have been relentless for the past week or so.

Trump’s remarks are not about the coronavirus itself but are a response to the falsehoods Democrats are spreading with the sole purpose of making this outbreak his Katrina. Their unfounded attacks, Trump says, are the hoax, the big lie, intended to undermine him with outrageous and untrue claims.

How does the media leap to the defense of Democrats? By attempting to undermine him with the outrageous and untrue claim that he said the coronavirus itself is a hoax.

Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. Coronavirus. They’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs, you say, “How’s President Trump doing?” They go, “Oh, not good, not good.” They have no clue; they don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa. They can’t count their votes!

One of my people came up to me and said, “Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything, they tried it over and over. They’ve been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.”

But you know, we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We have 15 people in this massive country, and because of the fact that we won early, we won early, we could’ve had a lot more than that. We’re doing great. Our country is doing so great. We are so unified. We are so unified.

I'm not sure a death rate 15 times the flu is 'reassuring'......

This just released from the President's office. President Trump assures a concerned nation that there is no reason to fear the "caronavirus". It will not spread in the US because Trump is in charge and in control. Other nations face serious increases in people identified with the virus. He included an official White House virus map to illustrate. (see below)

Trump added that the biggest fear Americans are facing is missing out on great deals on Wall Street at the moment.
