Pennsylvania Catholic diocese files for bankruptcy amid sexual abuse lawsuits | TheHill

A Pennsylvania Catholic diocese on Wednesday filed for bankruptcy in the midst of facing several sexual abuse lawsuits against priests.

The Diocese of Harrisburg is the first Catholic diocese in the state to seek bankruptcy protection after a 2018 investigation revealed more than 300 priests had allegedly sexually abused more than 1,000 children in Pennsylvania.

A lot of people think the problem with Catholic priest's sexual abuse of young boys is the result of homosexuality. The problem is more one of pedophllia. I don't think allowing priests to marry would solve that problem.

As an aside, I believe some of Jesus' 12 apostles were married & there is nothing in the Bible about celibacy being a necessary stop on the way to salvation.
