Pennsylvania governor tells Trump his state will keep welcoming refugees

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) told President Trump in a recent letter that his state will continue to accept refugees fleeing violence and persecution after the White House proposed “sharply reducing" the cap of refugees that could be admitted to the country last month.

In the letter, which is addressed to Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Wolf said he was writing to “reaffirm Pennsylvania’s founding values and our commitment to be a welcoming state” and confirm that his state will “continue to welcome refugees to live and work in our communities.”

William Penn, who founded our state, as a Quaker was the victim of religious persecution in jolly old England. One can consider Pennsylvania to have been founded by immigrants fleeing persecution in their native lands.

The fact is, PA will only be able to welcome refugees that the federal government allows to come into the country.

Republican states should send all their American homeless to Pennsylvania as refugees of Democratic Party policies.

Big government supporter are ya???

I thought state rights supercede federal laws...

But then they would not be able to receive all the money they do.

Red states get more welfare than blue states.

In fact blue states pay the red states bills....

While refugees are homeless, they are very much unlike homeless people. To focus on the negative aspects of homeless people, most refugees are industrious and do not suffer from mental illness. They are looking for a better way of life. And people looking for a better way of life are already leaving Republican states.

And why not accept them? Industrious states need more workers, and refugees can make pretty good workers.

Not when it comes to immigration. Read the Constitution.

That's amazing. Thank God this country still has people that have open arms and open hearts for refugees.

Not when it comes to immigration. Read the Constitution.

How about reading the scroll that the Statue of Liberty has been holding in her hand since 1875.

That scroll doesn't say anything about State's rights.

As you know, many parts of the Constitution use the term “people” or “person” rather than “citizen.” Those laws apply to everyone physically on U.S. soil, whether or not they are a citizen. As a result of that specific language, many of the basic rights, such as the freedom of religion and speech, the right to due process and equal protection under the law apply to citizens and non-citizens.

Who said anything about undocumented immigrants?

That's amazing. Thank God for government stealing from poor Americans.

I changed your message to make accurate in the bolded part.

Another person who LOVES government stealing people's money, pocketing most of it for themselves personally and administratively, give a less amount to other people, then brag THEY are generous - when they aren't generous at all and instead are just thieves including from the poor.

This poll asks if Americans equally are "people" to illegal migrants.

So when he next few murders, rapes, or other hard crimes come in that are perpetrated by such individuals.

You can just tell the victims that they didn't have their hearts open enough... give me a break with the faux morality BS.

Nope, it's only Trumpers that are rapists and murderers. Kurds -- not so much.

Meanwhile, people are leaving the north east to move south, to GA, NC, and SC.

I wonder why?

Murders and rapes happen every day, even perpetrated by people that share your own twisted viewpoint of undocumented immigrants. You have my sympathy.

And you have egg on your face, not to mention a fresh turd in the hand. But at least it's not the other way around.

LOL. You're left with nothing but Trump, everyone else is running away from him like he's a man on fire.

Don't tell Oborosen but more rapes are committed by Americans than immigrants in America.

That is the biggest lie told by the Democratic Party about immigration. Since there is no count on illegal immigrants there can be no count on their crime rate percentages. The reason the Democratic Party went hysterical over counting immigrants - legal and not - in the census is because they absolutely do NOT want ANY basis to establish crime stats so they can keep telling the same lie.

Prove it is a lie.

You can't. So you'll reply with more ignorant gibberish, but prove it. Face it bud, you are more likely, much more likely to be a rapist than any 10 immigrants combined.
