New York Legislators Call for Statewide Decriminalization of Prostitution

Your sexual repression is your own. Your christian intolerance, your own. The hypocrisy of religiosity refusing god's gifts to humanity is always underwhelming.

Wow.... I guess you're going to now claim you're psychic. I recommend you don't quit your day job. If you ever get to Frankfurt give my regards to Bonhof Annie. She's a great girl and will really take care of you for a reasonable number of Euros.

Cut the BS. I love my wife and need no other.

As a former police officer who had to witness the results of unlawful prostitution, combined with hypocrisy of elected government officials who keep the profession outlawed, yet use their services, I know the victims of your fake self righteous morality first hand, and not because I indulged in their services. The religious right is the single largest market for porn in the US. Make 'em but don't scrape 'em hypocrites, with the highest ratios of incestuous rape.

Gee.... I remember going on a few 'prosy posse' raids myself in the day. There were times I arrested the same girls two, three or four times in a row. Always treated them as regular girls and got a lot of my street info from them. No I never used them either....Doesn't mean a thing. If you think you're going to legalize and control the oldest profession in the world, you are definitely wrong.

Hmm... how about age or gender discrimination protection? Could you refuse "service" or hiring based on the worker's age or gender?
I actually did a cursory look at this because your question intrigued me. My layman's guess is that the exchange of service for money probably does not create a 'place of public accomodation' even if the service is performed in a hotel, or in the back of a bar, and that is what the civil rights act of 1964 refers to per the statute, but a brothel probably does. So the ladies who perform in a brothel can't discriminate based on gender, but the girl hustling on the street corner can.

No you didn't. No officer used your language. That crap is right out of bad movies.

And for that matter, can the prostitute refuse to consent to servicing certain clientele? What if the prostitute, for whatever reason, does not like servicing customers of certain races or religious groups? Can the customers then sue her for either specific performance in violation of her consent or have her stripped of her prostitution license?

Those are great questions but in the end, the focus is on harm reduction, but the general law of the land still applies to discrimination on the basis of race or religion, or color. That said, sex for sale is based entirely on consent between two parties, not one, and the contractual obligation is in both directions, the customer wants to hire the prostitute but the prostitute is agreeing to take them as a client. Are they obligated to service any and all clients?

Is a lawyer obligated to take any case presented to them? If I am a sovereign citizen who thinks your apartment is now my embassy, are ALL lawyers obligated to take me on as a client and defend my absurd argument that I am no longer required to pay rent on your property that I now consider my sovereign embassy?

As long as prostitution is kept illegal, organized criminals, pimps and madams, can take advantage of working ladies of the night, morning and afternoon. Forcing many through subterfuge of false promises made overseas into a sex trade they never expected in their naiveté of hope for a better life. Drug abuse, stds will remain as problems with nothing but despair for those caught in an endless cycle.

Bring the oldest profession into the light, and society can better limit the abuse of underage girls, better limit false immigration and slavery, better limit stds including the spread of HIV, and so forth. Your sense of what is moral and what isn't is severely indicative of self righteousness without honesty. Nothing will make prostitution disappear from reality. No religious persecution, no indictments and jail terms, no public shaming, nothing. Better to place it in a controlled environment, free of abusive pimps and organized crime, the slave trade, and substance abuse. The cheap votes garnered by California and other DA's who shut down Craig's List and Backpage made it tougher for police to identify underage runaway teens, the pimps who turned them to the life, and people like you contribute to the hypocrisy.

In your opinion, should it be legal to proposition the waitress at your local Denny's or the checkout girl at the supermarket? I ask, because in Brazil it can be done if done discreetly. I don't mean being an ass or loud about it. I mean show the cash and ask "Does this interest you?" If she's not, she just shakes her head no. If she shakes her head yes and you ask her what time. No other discussion than that.

I have had no opinion on this matter previously. Confronted with it, the threat is if one of the propositioned girls is one of my older granddaughters or grand nieces. With their propensity for over reaction and martial arts skills, the propositioner is up for a beating he won't forget. It is not a question of illegality, but potential negative reaction which could result is severe physical harm.

From a personal view, I find it offensive that men believe every woman is a target for their pleasures. Basically, plain rude behavior.

I guess you don't live in NYC then.....

BS. Every officer and dispatcher uses the numbered sections from their police manuals for describing patrols, responses to calls, crime descriptions in orders.

251.18 loitering with intent to prostitute would be the patrol order. You lie, without a doubt.

You overlook two important words: Plausible deniability. "I was just asking if money was important to you."

You haven't experienced my girls in action. They hate men who behave rudely. Their brothers know well the ramifications of their behavior. :)
