(Reuters) - The reported crime boss of the New York Mafia’s Gambino family, Francesco “Franky Boy” Cali, was gunned down in front of his Staten Island home late Wednesday, police and media said.

Cali, 53, was fatally shot multiple times to his torso shortly after 9 p.m. (0100 GMT on Thursday) in front of his home, police said.

Italian Gunsmoke, as it's sometimes called. Shot 6-7 times + run over by the shooter's pickup truck. It looks like the Mafia is still alive (pun intended) & well in metro NYC.

Staten Island's affluent Todt Hill neighbourhood is renowned for its crime connections. It was used as the location for fictional crime boss Don Corleone's compound in the 1972 film The Godfather. Paul Castellano also owned a home there.

Castellano was shot in front of Spark's Steak House on orders from John Gotti. A review of that steak house says 'people are dying to eat there.'
 
This is rather unfortunate. Things are going to get messy.

Yeah, somthin's goin on that's for sure. In most cases like this there are moves bein made that are taking the market in another direction that Frankie didn't wanna go. In the old days it was drugs: the older heads didn't want anything to do with 'em.
