NY prosecutors preparing state charges against Manafort, source says

A state grand jury is being used to investigate the tax and bank fraud-related allegations against Manafort.

The Manhattan district attorney's office is moving forward in preparing a case against Paul Manafort in connection with state tax and bank fraud-related charges, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The developing state case against Manafort, President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, was first reported by Bloomberg and The New York Times.

NY State convictions of Manafort will not be subject to any Trump pardons. Same in VA & other states where he has done criminal acts.

They stand a better chance of nailing Trump on Federal tax charges once the forensic accountants get through with his tax returns. They couldn't get Al Capone on murder, bootlegging or racketeering but they got him on tax evasion. Too bad Alcatraz is no longer in service. Nice place to visit as a tourist but I'd hate to do time there.
