NEW YORK (AP) — Big, brassy letters spelling “Trump” will be ripped off another New York City apartment tower, the last of six luxury condominiums that once displayed the president’s name.

Owners got an email Friday from the board of a high-rise on Manhattan’s west side confirming that “Trump Place” will disappear from the facade in coming weeks.

Not too popular in his home city. The buildings will continue to be managed by the Trump Organization.

That is capitalism in action....pretty much everything associated with Trump loses money and now even his name does so as well. Having something "Trumped" in NY is simply a very bad business decision.

No I'm not Russian or Saudi and I don't like to pay triple or more above market value.

Now if I had some drug . money to launder I'm sure I would think otherwise...

I wouldn't care one way or the other. But it's their building. They can name it anything they want.
 
Why don't these people move? The logo and brand upsets them, but the place itself doesn't? These folks are incredibly shallow.

The name impacts market value. These are multi-million dollar investments. Why get bogged down with nonsense impacting the value of your property.

In NYC, the better approach - if you intend to remain where you currently live - would be to devalue your property.

Who really cares? If that makes them happy then by all means waste some money and have the name removed. Take that president Trump..........

Big deal. Not all commercial real estate "ages" the same. To have a "brand" costs money for "panache". Sometimes a dollar, some time $5 a month per unit. Whatever you can get. Probably the owners wanted to lower costs, and the Trump org doesn't want ageing real estate cluttering up it's balance sheet. Apartments are depreciatable assets that age quickly in terms of being the pretty lady on the block to being a has been in ten years.

So if this that new is what floats your boat go for it. I double the Trump org is losing any sleep over it.
