This is the main race on the ballot this election for us: Gov. Chris Sununu (R) versus Molly Kelly (D). I think Sununu will win reelection and I plan on voting for him.

Complete aside, but how is New Hampshire? I'm from California, so I'm just curious.

Possibly going to get some snow tomorrow so that's cool. New Hampshire's great in my opinion. If you don't mind colder weather, mountains, mostly independent people, and smaller towns and cities then you'd like it.

Hi! I spent some time in New Hampshire. We bought some property there and hoped to build, but it didn't work out. Great state, and I've always envied your place in the presidential races.

Why do you like Sununu? What are issues in New Hampshire?

He's a pretty independent minded governor even though he is technically a Republican. He has the fiscal sense of a conservative but is about individual liberty on most social issues. He's fairly libertarian in my opinion although Republicans in other more red states would probably see him as a Democrat light on some issues. He's also a NH native, a skier, and is active in the state. He's only been governor for two years but I have no complaints so i'm good with another two years.

The pay rates suck unless you build a good reputation with a manager in Massachusetts that lets you work from home most of the time. NH pays something like 40% less than Eastern Massachusetts for IT jobs.

I'm sorry to hear that, I don't know that much about IT work. The kind of work that I do doesn't pay all that well but it's fun and I get to combine my work with my hobbies.

One cool thing about work from home in NH is that Massachusetts only charges you state income tax for days that you physically work in MA. If you work three days per week from your home in NH, only 40% of your income is subject to MA state tax. I used to live in Milford, NH and my job was in Cambridge, MA.

That's pretty cool! I can't say that i've spent much time in Milford but i've been in and through Nashua a number of times. I'm up in the Hanover area.

Hi, you seem to have joined while I was on a break from this board. Welcome - I'm also from NH. Like you, I also voted for Sununu who I find to be very moderate. He reminds me a lot of John Lynch. I was actually surprised how close it ended up being.
