Activists upset with Sen. Susan Collins’s vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh say they will inflict economic damage on the Republican senator's home state by boycotting Maine products and tourism.

“Dear Susan Collins – I really struggled with this but my tourist $ just voted against ever visiting Maine while you remain in office,” actor and comedian John Fugelsang said Friday in a tweet that has since been deleted, according to the Portland Press Herald.

The tweet garnered hundreds of comments from users saying they would join Fugelsang in the boycott, with one person canceling a $2,200 reservation at Point Sebago resort, the Press Herald reported.

Lobstering is the big industry (along with lumbering & paper) in Maine. I once got a horrible case of shellfish poisoning from a boiled lobster lunch so Maine is on the bottom of my bucket list. I had had a case of food poisoning from airline chicken once & shellfish poisoning is several times worse.

Arizona, Maine, Indiana, which state is next on the liberal hit list?

Punishing the working people of Maine because a Senator voted her conscience...

DAMN FINE JOB.

Well, you know that old chestnut: when you’ve lost John Fugelsang ...

Why on Earth is this news? I have never heard of John Fugelsang before today, and I will probably forget about his existence after a few hours. I have noticed in the age of Trump, so many, many D-List celebrities (mainly so-called "comedians" who most have never heard or who anyone hardly remembers) seem to be trying to increase their exposure by making outrageous statements. Now, perhaps Mr. Fugelsang is not being disingenuous and truly believes this is the morally correct thing to do. I think trying to hurt unrelated people for the actions of another is wicked and evil. Wasn't this the argument against the so-called "Muslim ban"? That we must not issue blanket bans and boycotts of entire nations based on the actions of a minority of its people? But we must boycott an entire state of our fellow citizens for the actions of one of its Senators? This lacks any moral seriousness whatsoever.

Well, you know that old chestnut: when you’ve lost John Fugelsang ...

Well, I am so outraged that now I'm going to burn all of my closet-full of John Fugelsang-related merchandise in my front yard and upload it to YouTube. All those Fugelsang posters, collectible Fugelsang figurines, plastic Fugelsang cups, my multiple copies of Fugelsang's hit single LP "Funky Time with Fugelsang". As much as it hurts me to do it, I cannot have it in my house anymore.

It's called living in a free country where we practice freedom of choice. As ye sow so shall ye reap. Collins could have easily figured out the consequences of her deciding vote. She's a professional politician.

How about boycotting/burning L.L. Bean?

Indiana is a very conservative state. South of Indianapolis is the Deep South, FWIW.

The president tweets some ridiculous comment : "Why are you worried about a tweet?! Good lord it's just a tweet!"

John Fugelsang tweets a jab at not visiting a state over politics : "Those damn intolerant liberals and their hit lists!"

You just can't make this stuff up, lol. :lamo

Indeed she is... One not taken in by the Democrats dog and pony show.

But yes... Rage impotently at people who didn't do anything wrong. It is your right to be wrong.

You got it wrong the supporters of Senator Collins going to Maine will greatly outnumber the losers, who may stay home. Wishful thinking on your part, nice try though.

Worthless words by that nobody. Not one person will boycott Maine nor any other state over this. Its stupid to even suggest it. So people instead should travel to states where both Senators voted to confirm Kavanaugh. Maybe REALLY he's boycotting Senator King of Maine for voting NO on Kavanaugh. :lamo

Bet neither the boycotter or the OPer has any clue what party Senator King is in or how the other Maine Senator voted until I now just told him.

I mean, this is an extra stupid OP quote and absolutely worthless OP comment as he explains the boycott is irrelevant to him one way or the other anyway.

Liberals, showing that if you don't follow the Progressive line, they will harm your family, your livelihood, your life.

All of course, in the name of "tolerance".
