NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, NY, on Sunday night, according to a statement from police posted on social media.

The Sag Harbor Village Police Department said in a press release Monday that France was pulled over at 7:30 p.m. after failing to stop at a stop sign. Police determined that the 56-year-old was driving while "in an intoxicated condition," and a subsequent search found that he had oxycodone pills in his possession.

France was held overnight and arraigned Monday morning before being released on his own recognizance, according to police. He faces charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

That's a very quick way to end your career & louse up the rest of your life.

Not that he can't afford to retire: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ian-france-divorce-unsealed-chairman/2145757/

In September 2005, documents list France's assets of more than $554 million, including over $218 million in International Speedway Corp. stock. His total income for 2004 was $9.1 million, including an $8.7 million salary from NASCAR (he also was paid by ISC and NASCAR Digital Entertainment).

You'd think if he was in this kind of situation he could have called Uber or Lyft. He certainly could afford the ride.

NASCAR fans will probably be most offended about the Toyota part.

;)

They would have expected at least a street hemi from this rich guy.
