Letters 'shame' voters before Pennsylvania primary elections - BBC News

Some Pennsylvania voters have received letters publicising whether they had voted in previous elections before they head to the polls on Tuesday.

The letters appeared to be intended to "embarrass" people into voting by revealing their voting record compared to that of friends and neighbours.

The flyers were sent by a group called the Pennsylvania State Voter Program, which is not government-affiliated.
===========================================
I vote in every election so I see this as a good thing. No intimidation, just a reminder to go & vote.

I have received a couple of letters like this. They are trying to embarrass people to vote.
It shows if you voted or not. And implies your neighbors might know you did not vote.

Everyone I spoke to did not care for the letter and thought it was improper to send. The local news and paper did a story about this.
