Not sure how I feel about this. I don't want to upset the balance of power here in NJ, and have to face another chaotic election, but not on the failure of justice. I think Menendez is guilty.

Sen. Robert Menendez, given a clean bill of legal health last week by the Justice Department, resumed his position Tuesday as the senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Menendez (D-N.J.), a free thinker on diplomacy issues who sometimes strays from Democratic dogma, surrendered the post nearly three years ago when he was indicted on corruption charges. That trial, held over several months last fall, ended in a hung jury just before Thanksgiving, and in media interviews afterward, jurors signaled deep skepticism with the Justice Department’s case against Menendez.

I agree with everyone here. Being from NJ, I'd likely vote for the Democratic candidate in most races as our GOP has been irrevocably tarnished by the turd that was Chris Christie, but I can't see myself ever voting for Menendez. With the evidence presented against him, he would have been convicted (rightfully) in any court prior to a couple of years ago, when the McDonnell SCOTUS case entirely altered public corruption law. He is definitely guilty in my eyes of corruption (regardless of the legal standard) and should not be in the Congress. But it's not like we in NJ don't have a long history of incredibly corrupt public 'servants'. Menendez will likely serve something akin to life tenure.
