State school aid: How would your town fare under Malloy’s plan?

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy Friday released a plan to eliminate Education Cost Sharing funding for 85 school districts and reduce funding for another 54 if no state budget is adopted before the first week of October.

I love it. The guy vetos the budget and then cuts off funding to the rural areas. Amazing move.

Perhaps our politicians are growing bigger balls.

    or becoming even more stupid.

Cutting funds to underperforming districts is not likely to improve those districts putting the kids education at risk for political points instead of doing real work at making those districts improve
Conservatives believe that the government is incompetent, and seek to elect people who will ensure it is

How has throwing money at a problem without demanding systemic changes worked out?

Out of all the programs...I don't think the education budget is the one I would have gone after...not without giving the town sufficient time to plan. He is slashing the education budgets after giving government workers a higher median average pay they the rest of Connecticut. Just doesn't make sense.
