There are a lot of problems with the subways and the roads here in the tri-state area. Is Trump doing enough about infrastructure here? He has never once mentioned it as President.

Trump and the GOP should have started with infrastructure and the Dems would have participated and been on board. That opportunity has been wasted .

Now its just a hollow talking point for Trump that is going nowhere.

When does he talk about infrastructure? I just hear him talking about the wall. That in my book does not equal infrastructure!

No, you and the rest of the TDS gang would have found something to hate out of it and then tried to spin it into a reason to have the President impeached.

Infrastructure is not a public good in economic terms. The government should not be involved financially but should only make sure the property rights are structured so that the private sector finds the optimum.

I guess we will never know.

Infrastructure projects could be so structured as to flourish as the economy slides into recession. Right now we do not really need the extra growth above maintenance.

Trump originally talked about infrastructure spending and then talked about public-private "partnerships" which experts concluded was just a way to enrich private interests by granting them public property. A couple of weeks ago DT declared "infrastructure week," but nothing ever came of it.

The country does need infrastructure work and now, when interest rates are low, is the best time to finance it.

because any federal money would go to federal highways and or roads. if your subways and roads are in disrepair you need to complain to your state rep about it.

the problem is getting a bill to his desk. congress is just not moving any bills anywhere. even though he has signed over 40 bills now.
they are stalling on major legislation.

That's just false. There is plenty of money that goes towards mass transportation. That's what the FTA does to the tune of $12 billion a year.

unless it is allotted to the state to do so then it is 100% correct.

Trump isn't doing much about anything.

So far he's suggested that they would foster public-private partnerships, which won't work most of the time. E.g. it's unlikely private involvement in a new train tunnel under the Hudson will work; and lots of little projects (like small bridges that need to be replaced) have no real opportunity for private involvement.

It's still possible Trump could spend on infrastructure, but he'll probably need a few Dems on board. I don't think they will care much for the private angle.

The real "one-trick ponies" here are all the TDS sufferers who can barely make any post without throwing out some kind of TDS garbage. My "one-trick pony" is nothing more than a response you and the rest of the TDS crowd.

You do know TDS is not a real diagnosis right? It's just a term made up to slam people who don't like Trump.

:doh

Perhaps people don't know about it because people are too busy barking at all the dog whistles the left's MSM blows for them.

Never once mentioned infrastructure? Really?

I could go on and on.

Pretty embarrassing for people on this thread......

Though, it would have helped, had the man on the chair had more experience in these things.

Oh good god! There are infrastructure problems in every city and state. There's a bridge out in Dixon, Montana. Damn Trump, he hasn't even mentioned it as President! Not to mention it's the states responsibility. Bitch at Cuomo, where it belongs.

Population of Dixon, MT = 216
Population of New York City metro area = 23,723,696

Much of NYC's infrastructure affects the national economy. If nothing else, New York residents purchase huge amounts of goods from the rest of the US, as well as manufactures goods; shipping obviously relies on infrastructure. And of course, millions of Americans travel to New York for business and leisure.

I.e. like it or not, the infrastructure of the NYC area is in part a national concern.

By the way, both NY and NJ are already contributing large sums to infrastructure projects. E.g. the Port Authority's annual budget is $7.4 billion to maintain 6 of the most heavily used bridges and tunnels in the world; an interstate commuter rail system; three international airports, and two national (including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark); five ports; and the World Trade Center in Manhattan.

And of course, New York State sends more to the federal government in taxes than it receives in benefits, while Montana is the opposite -- MT is the 7th most dependent state in the US.

So, you were saying...?
