North Carolina is no longer classified as a democracy

I don't have a difficulty understanding any ****ing thing. It was to force an agenda down the throats of people. Removing the ability to have mens and womens restrooms and lockers is an invasion of people's privacy. Who really thought this was a good idea, people would accept? We could use the same bathrooms already if we wanted. It was a statement. it was answered. Check your package and use the appropriate restroom.

We seem to have incompatible opinions on this subject.

North Carolina is the GOP's dream. Undermine the powers of the democratically elected governor, gerrymander the state congressional districts to a point where most of them are not even competitive, and ignore the voice of the people. North Carolina is essentially on its way to becoming a one party state where democratic values are

Bull****... this is just some blogger cry baby making **** up.

If NC was the GOP's dream.... how the **** did the GOP lose the governor's race to the Democrat challenger to an incumbent?

You are quite simply wrong. There is no right for you have have an available restroom in any business nor, should the owner decide to provide one, do you have any right to how they are laid out or designated. Your only right is the ability to decide whether or not to do business with said business and owner. Any laws about restroom use, outside of safety and even then they would only apply if one is created, would be restrictions on the business owner's rights of private property use. You have no right of privacy on anyone else's property. An expectation of such due to common courtesy, maybe. A right to be informed if they will not provide any privacy, maybe, especially where common practice would provide such. But common practice does not provide a right. Your only real right to privacy is on your own property.

No, that law secured freedom. You seem to have difficulty identifying this concept.

If an individual can use either bathroom, they have more freedom.

I an individual is restricted from limiting which bathroom can be used, that actually secures freedom by restricting the authoritarian social engineering.

You and Absentglare are both incorrect. The Charlotte, NC ordinance specifically removed the ability for a business to designate mens or womens restrooms making them less free to conduct business in the manner they choose.. This is specifically what you mention in the bolded section above.
HB2, the NC statute, doesn't dictate what a private business can do with it's restrooms. It dictates how government facilities operate. The government has to set the rules for government facilities.
I never claimed a right to privacy, but certainly even in public spaces laws govern the expectation of privacy. This is the reason cameras can't secretly be placed in locker rooms or restrooms. Things were fine before the ordinance. If a person presented as an opposite gender, they used that restroom. Most people want a same gendered locker rooms and restrooms mainly so they can take their children in there and not have to explain to a 4 or 5 year old about the opposite gender. It's not transphobia, it's what they consider standard decency.

When anyone wonders how the GOP intends to stay viable while national demographics trend against them over the next decade or two or three, this presidential election and the events in North Carolina should provide bright shining flashing arrow as to just how they intend to do it over the will of the people.

Eventually, its going to hit the fan - and the fan could well break. And that is going to be very very ugly.

Fun fact:

Hispanics are socially conservative by a large margin. I would be interested to know where they stand on issue.

Thats terrific because I am too. Very few people lead a more conservative Norman Rockwell life than I do.
