I hope that the supernatural exists, for it gives me the strength to go on in this veil of tears.

1. I have just learned about a strange experience reported by the famous British explorer of Antarctica Sir Ernest Shackleton (1874 - 1922).

a. He and two companions were walking on a cold island in Antarctica for 36 hours.

b. The three men afterwards reported that they had felt the presence of an invisible fourth man walking by their side.

c. Sir Ernest later commented that it was something "which can never be spoken of."

Source: I found an article in England's Guardian newspaper website entitled "The Strange World of Felt Presences." It is a serious discussion of some possible causes for this phenomenon.

I have just read an article about other people who have experienced this phenomenon, including Ron DiFrancisco.

Mr. DiFrancisco was the last man out of the South Tower on 9/11.

He feels that an "angel" guided him.

Antarctica Sir Ernest Shackleton (

Arguably the greatest survival story of all time

As far as the "supernatural" for me, "Seeing is believing"

I have not seen it

Men on the edge of life and death have hallucinatory experience, news at 11.

Sorry, but I don't think claims to feeling a presence even if it weren't in extreme conditions means anything. Actually, I'm not sorry.

However, speaking of shackleton, I could swear I read some years ago an article about a case of his buried whiskey being discovered in fine condition, and some distiller trying to reverse engineer the recipe.
