“I went to Justin’s classroom and when I walked by the classroom door, the lights were out and I could not see anyone through the window,” Principal Doug Palow wrote in a Lee County school district investigative report. “I told both of them to put their clothes on and meet me at my office.”Pinto later refused to respond when asked by Palow what led up to the tawdry romp, saying only “I am sorry” before leaving the office. Palow then told Wilhide that she could lose her teacher’s certificate as a result of the incident, prompting her to claim that the encounter was the first time the couple had sex in the classroom.
Wilhide was confused as to why she was being reprimanded, saying “I am doing this on my own time and not being paid,” according to Palow’s account.

Samantha Wilhide has been reassigned to a district administrative office after the alleged May 4 tryst in a darkened classroom at Heights Elementary School in Fort Myers, the News-Press reports. Wilhide was found sitting on a table wearing only a bra as her shirtless colleague, Justin Pinto, was pulling up his pants, according to a report by the school’s principal.

seems the other teacher was a probationary hire and was immediately terminated. but then he had some other things going on:

what makes this threadworthy - to me - is the teacher's inability to grasp why she got in trouble having sex on campus with another teacher. maybe she believes it was OK since it was not with a student
 
How bad I think this is depends on whether or not kids were in the school yet.

the article referenced multiple pre-school trysts having been documented by security cameras
but they we obviously not so early as to avoid being found out by a passerby ... unfortunately for them, the principal
to me, it speaks to very flawed judgment; and not comprehending that, makes it exponentially worse
 
Ok, so SHE was the probationary teacher and she was reassigned. Her partner in crime, a 4 year hire is the one who got fired. He is also the one who can't figure out what he did wrong, and the one who sent inappropriate text messages. Who hires these people?
 
We still have a teacher in our district that was caught doing that a long time ago........
 
So....if I bang a coworker at my job...as long as its before my shift, and before opening...in good?

I don't think I would've fired him (if he was a good teacher). Maybe a month suspension or something.
If no children heard / saw them, if it was outside of class hours, then I personally don't think it's that bad.

Maybe the principle should knock next time. :2razz:

I think you got it a bit backwards. It was the male who was the provisional hire and the female who couldn't figure out what she did wrong. Apparently she thought it was okay as long as she wasn't moonlighting.

He was also propositioning other teachers in text messages according the OP. Playing the field like that could cause a disruptive work environment. He was a provisional hire and he blew it. No pun intended.
 
I don't get how this is "news" and not just straight-up gossip.
