We have to assume that all is not well, and see if we can help.

The elephant in the room is the possibility, no matter how remote, he infected himself with some deadly disease and then wandered around the Atlanta terminal all day long. Patting people on the back, shaking hands, coughing, ect. He was smart enough to know which one needed the least gestation period.

or....as previously discussed, he just needed to go on a "walkabout" like they do down under, to reexamine his priorities in life.
