A Florida family discovered a 6-foot boa constrictor in their home after hearing noises from their attic for years.

Englewood resident Bob van der Herchen, 75, said it's "anybody's guess" on how long he and his wife had been sharing their home with the massive reptile, but they had been hearing noises coming from the space above their ceiling for about two years.

I can't begin to tell you how finding a giant boa in my attic would affect me mentally! I would never sleep soundly in that house again, lol.

I must say I'm impressed with the 75 year old man's loving nature. He wouldn't allow anyone to harm the snake. He was compassionate toward an intruding houseguest. They said it had probably been someone's pet before taking residence in their attic.

If they had not discovered it now while it was only 6 feet long the situation could have become much more dangerous for them, their family and their pets.

Hmm, I wounder how many neighborhood cats went missing over the past 2 years?

They should have had zero rat problems at least

It may be a reptile and all, but I don't understand how anything survives living in a Florida attic. Maybe she wrapped herself around the HVAC all summer.
