Article Here.

Police in Rock Hill charged a teen with assault after she used tried to slash her stepfather, who defended himself with a toy light saber, a police report states.

In the incident late Thursday at apartment on Celanese Road, officers were called to secure the scene for emergency medical officials.

In interviewing people there, officers found that there was a physical altercation between a 17-year-old female, Kayla Knapp, and her stepfather, the Rock Hill police report shows.

Witnesses told officers there was an argument, and that Knapp used two kitchen knives from a knife stand in an attempt to slash the stepfather, the report says.

I guess he had the high ground.

Maybe she had just found out he was actually her father.

I used to live in that town. Disappointed there is not a suitable Jedi master replacement after I left.

I love how people don't know if the picture in the article is of the daughter or father.

Did he have a permit?

This happened right down the road from my house, and I can attest to the fact that both North Carolina and South Carolina state law would have required the man to attend a Jedi academy and advance beyond basic Padawan status to full Jedi Initiate before the local Sheriff would issue a permit to purchase a light saber. In fact, the local Toys-R-Us stores have a special hotline set up to the FBI for federal light saber background checks as well as an on duty Sheriff's Deputy on the premises to ensure only legal purchases.

However, there are rumors of a growing underground black market for the sale of stolen light sabers, run by the local chapter of the followers of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious (aka the Girl Scout Brownies) who have attempted to sway us to the dark side with their annual cookie sales and other insidious efforts.

He doesnt need a permit

Just goes to show you....never bring a knife to a light saber fight.

The story may not be a preposterous as it sounds, I have seen some toy lightsabers that were made
of heavy acrylic, and could be effectively used as a stick of club.
