SU-50. Not a Joke.

And Russians have some sort-of deficit in training? I know things aren't the peachiest in their military but nobody is crashing tanks or planes into each-other by accident as far as I know.

The spetznaz are some of the toughest specops guys in the world, that's a fact. I don't know about their regular joes though.

As far as I know their issue is with modernization. Doesn't mean the training is bad just outdated or 'un-modern', corrupt, etc. Once again I don't really know... this is one of the things I should ask my dad.

Doesn't mean it isn't either though. But who really knows. I agree with the modernization part.

Simple speed is not always going to beat agility, low radar profile and the systems backing them up. In the 1980's the Mig-25 was known for its speed but I don't remember it rating highly for its agility and ability in dogfights.

Agility is pretty much irrelevant any more. 90+ % kill rate missiles with 100 + km range means old school dogfights are incredibly rare.

The Mig 25 was amazing for its time. It was not meant for real dogfights but just firing its long range missiles and then retreating, hoping that one of the missiles would hit its target some 50 miles away.

I don't recall Russian air to air missiles having much of a reputation outside the 1980s and 1990's movies?

I can believe that with US and european missiles - but Russian ones? (You can tell I was a mere grunt)

Awesome! I wonder where they got the idea? BTW, I think the Russians are more concerned about the Chinese than us. We don't share a 3500 KM border with the former "Evil Empire".

Its still evil if ya ask me. ANd those Russian women are really freakin mean too! Look at the Oksana bitch that Mel Gibson married. She is pure evil.

Ehh, improved missile tech will likely come with that military technology package from the US as part of Russia's military revamp. I don't really know though.

Irrelevant. If one side has missiles with that capability, dogfighting is unlikely.
