Veterans coalition condemns Trump’s continued attacks on Army officer who testified against him

Post'em. Expose yourself to be a liar. I ****ing dare ya.

Who's a liar?

Retired Army Brig. Gen. Peter Zwack, who commanded then-Maj. Vindman from 2012 to 2014, said he wanted to “correct the record” about Vindman.

“He’s obviously very bright, self-made,” Zwack told Insider in an interview...

“We worked in a pressure-cooker environment in Moscow where you have to trust everybody,” Zwack said. “You just have to trust each other, there’s no in-between.”

“I would trust Alex with my life,” Zwack added, referring to Vindman by his first name. “It was literally important — we were in a difficult operational environment as attachés representing the United States to the Russians. We really had to be reliable, we had to be accurate, we had to be diplomats and Alex was good at all of it.”

Zwack, now a global fellow for the Woodrow Wilson International Center’s Kennan Institute, pointed to Vindman’s fluency in Russian as an asset during their missions there. Vindman immigrated to the U.S. from the Soviet Union when he was 3, and joined the Army after college as an infantry officer; he later transferred to become a foreign area officer whose expertise is Russia and Eastern Europe.

“I’ve traveled with him deep into Russia on various occasions,” Zwack said, adding that Vindman was “always smart, interesting, and had good judgement ... I trusted him completely.”

Everyone who served with him says he's a piece of ****.

In a diplomatic position? Is that your ****ing evidence? :lamo

You cocked that up nine ways from sunday.

You're jealous of his tab.

No he did not. And I'll take my commanding officer's assessment of me any day over that of any one guy beside me who might think I'm less than he is.

LTC Vindman was Russia adviser to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs from 2015 to mid 2018 when the Army chief of staff detailed Vindman to the WH NSC.

Further, we can be confident the CJCS, Gen. "Fighting Joe" Dunford was well informed of WH actions at all times vis a vis Russia. Moreover, the current CJCS since last fall, Gen. Milley, was the CSA who assigned Vindman to Dunford and who then detailed Vindman to the WH to keep tabs on things there.

Department of the Army also issued its ringing support of Vindman at the time he testified to the House about Trump's attempted extortion and that set off the impeachment bomb under Trump's fat ass.

Gen. Joseph Dunford, the retired chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is “a professional, competent, patriotic and loyal officer,” as Vindman has faced intense scrutiny over his testimony in the House impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Dunford told CNN that he had consistent contact with Vindman, the director for European affairs on the National Security Council, when the Ukraine expert served on the joint staff and Vindman acted as his translator for his calls with the chief of the Russian military.

"He is a professional, competent, patriotic and loyal officer. He has made an extraordinary contribution to the security of our nation in both peacetime and combat,”

The Army intends to fully support the officer who is testifying in the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump.

Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a combat veteran and a Purple Heart recipient, serves on the National Security Council. On Tuesday, he went before Congress after being subpoenaed by the House Intelligence Committee.

Without referring to Vindman by name, Trump has repeatedly accused him of having a political axe to grind by describing him as a "Never Trumper witness."

"Lt. Col. Vindman, who has served this country honorably for 20+ years, is fully supported by the Army like every Soldier, having earned a Purple Heart after being wounded in Iraq in 2004," Matt Leonard, an Army spokesperson, told Task & Purpose.

"As his career assignments reflect, Lt. Col. Vindman has a long history of selfless service to his country, including combat. Lt. Col. Vindman is afforded all protections anyone would be provided in his circumstances."

Gen. Joseph Dunford, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also weighed in, telling CNN that Vindman "is a professional, competent, patriotic, and loyal officer. He has made an extraordinary contribution to the security of our Nation in both peacetime & combat."

Are you calling those war heroes liars? Here, let's try a source you consider to be gospel... Fox & Friends smears Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's military record | Media Matters for America

Well neither man has any first hand knowledge, would be more believable if Vindman's fellow Ranger Graduates went on the record, not hearsay.

Remember the rabid right danced up and down as Senior Officials went UNDER OATH and testified to Congress claiming it was all hearsay???? Remember????

Veterans and fishermen have a lot in common... :peace

Nobody gets a unanimity of opinion about him.

Except for you of course: :doh

While Vindman has superior officers who speak very well of him it's what one's superior officers on the promotion boards adjudge and decide and LTC Vindman continues on schedule to enter the Army War College or the National Defense University War College where he can enjoy a period of respite and reflection in advance of his colonel's boards during or afterward. AWC and NDU aren't exclusively to become colonel either.

Impeachment witness Lt. Col. Vindman may be heading to War College in Carlisle, but that’s not certain yet

Updated Feb 10, 2020

A spokesperson for the Army said Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the impeachment witness who was ousted from National Security Council post by President Donald Trump Friday may end up at the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, but that’s not certain yet.

The spokesperson, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Vindman has been selected to attend a senior service college beginning this summer, but it hasn’t yet been determined which school he will attend.

There are five possible locations, she said, including the Army War College in Carlisle and National War College in Washington, D.C. It’s also possible he will attend the senior college of another branch, such as the Navy or Air Force, she said.

Multiple news outlets reported over the weekend that the Vindman, a decorated combat veteran, would return to the Department of Army for reassignment, but was scheduled to report to the war college in July.

Chairman of JCS Gen. Milley who was elevated from chief of staff Army in September and who had detailed Vindman to the WH NSC is for instance a master's degree grad of the Naval War College program of National Security and Strategic Studies in addition to an M.A. from Columbia in International Relations. Milley has a B.A. in political science from Princeton and was commissioned via its Rotc. Vindman has of course an M.A. from Harvard in Russian, Ukraine and Eurasia Studies to include being fluent in Russian and Ukrainian languages, his commission awarded on graduating SUNY Binghamton Rotc.

Gen. Mattis retired and the former SecDef has a M.A. in International Security Studies from the National Defense University and a B.A. in History from Central Washington State and its Naval Rotc Marine Corps option. Gen. Kelly has an M.A. from Georgetown in National Security Studies, an M.A. from the National Defense University in International Security Studies and was at one point Commandant's Liaison Officer to the US House of Representatives which initiated Kelly to lawmakers and the political process.

No slouches here and almost all flag officers of Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force have two graduate degrees from a service college or university, institute, and a civilian university.

That's what you want.

That's what you want.

LTC was on track for a senior military war college when he was assigned to Pentagon in 2015 where he was Russia adviser to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs before Pentagon detailed Vindman to the WH NSC in 2018.

Vindman is presently back in his Pentagon assignment since 2015 with the CJCS who is now Gen. Milley who as CSA both assigned Vindman in 2015 and detailed him in 2018. As Trump said last week when he was asked about Vindman, "He's with General Milley. He can have him."

Milley's had Vindman all along if you don't know it.

Umm no, a third party CLAIMS a Ranger called Vindman names and wanted him out. Hearsay, and you were very much against SWORN TESTIMONY about tRump conversations made in public.

You want us to take the word of a right wing loony tune who has a track record for spreading lies against any 'enemy' of the Alt-right. He helped spread the Pizzagate rumor, he attacks people as pedophiles. He got a reporter fired with lies and when the lies were exposed the reporter was rehired. He believe there is no such thing as date rape...

Google his slimy buttocks, he is an opportunist who never lets facts get in the way of his rant- and you want us to take his word on this???

But, this chow thief crap is petty name calling. I'd say beneath a MOH holder. Silly little attacks to try and distract from the manic actions of the spoiled brat in the Oval Office.

I served with guys we gave a nickname to, but the fact is Vindman did graduate... :peace

I wouldn't mind the Rangers stepping forward, I served with Rangers, quite surprised they haven't. (quite surprised MOH holders are throwing this out into the public in such a sleazy fashion.)… :peace

I've proven it to be true.
No it’s not. You really should stop before you embarrass yourself any further. If that’s even possible.

Stop lying.
You are the only not telling the truth. You claimed everyone who served with him said negative things about him. That is demonstrably not true.
But then I have never noticed you caring about the truth that much.

Oh the extent people go to on a continual basis to stick up for Trump.

Don't you guys ever get tired of him putting you through the wringer like that all the time?

Don't you ever get tired of people making fun of you for it?

Just saying....

Hundreds of thousand of veterans have protested the VA Hospitals, and the liberals have never used the term "coalition"

Not everyone.

Sure, other swamp creatures like him, corrupt aholes and buttkissers support Trump because he is their meal ticket. Or they just have no morals to speak off, than they would support him too because two birds of a feather flock together and sadly there is a whole flock of them in the WH and surrounding that Orange Oaf.

The Daily Wire? :lamo

Daily Wire founder and editor Ben Shapiro was once editor-at-large with the conservative website Breitbart.com and cofounded the conservative media analysis group TruthRevolt.

Strictly hot garbage

Both "witnesses" just repeating things they heard.

Which makes it fake nooz, right?

Oh wait, hearsay is ok when its backing up a trump rant.

1100 veterans speak out on some "lard ass" officer, and all of a sudden it's a coalition.

Civil-military relations are at the core of American democracy so when civilian leaders public and private and military chiefs and commanders combine to check and to foil a potus/CinC who is a wrecking ball to the Constitution, the national security, national defense, the people's sovereignty in our elections, it can be called a coalition.

From the OP:

“The dismissal of LTC Vindman … appears to be motivated by nothing more than political retribution and deprives the White House of expertise necessary to defend our collective national security,” the group stated in the new letter. “The manner of these dismissals suggests that the commander-in-chief has prioritized a personal vendetta over our national security.”

The effort, organized by the anti-Trump group National Security Action, includes signatures from prominent figures such as former U.S. Army Europe Commander Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, former Under Secretary of Defense Frank Kendall and former Connecticut Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Shepard Stone.

It also features a host of veterans activists connected to both the Truman National Security Project and Common Defense, whose leaders said their goal is to protect military members from harassment and abuse from the White House.

Just days after Vindman’s removal, in an event with multiple veterans advocates gathered around the Oval Office, Trump called for the Army to look into whether further punishment against Vindman was warranted. On Friday, Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy said there is no current investigation into the officer.

Trump has also spoken of taking UCMJ action against retired officers and enlisted who speak out in criticism of him.

Veterans protesting VA medical services are civilian former military personnel and families who are focused rightfully on their one single issue of medical care as it is supposed to be and often is despite certain preventable shortcomings that exist in the VA system. Yet and as the OP points out, the veterans coalition critical of Trump's verbiage against LTC Vindman is focused on a classic issue of modern democratic government, ie, civil-military relations both broadly and narrowly.

A civil-military coalition is indeed in the formative stages of opposition to Trump and against Trump's agenda to destroy the Constitution -- the coalition will continue to expand and to acquire its definitive form and purpose. The Vindman-Trump antagonism and hostility is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg in these respects. Further, Trump and Barr turning now to pervert the DOJ, the FBI, the laws, the judicial processes, the courts and justice itself by abusing the high profile pardon power intensifies each side and accelerates the inevitable clash that is unavoidable.

The worse Trump makes things the worse Trump gets so there will be no respite for the Nation from the worst of Trump yet to come before matters can be rescued and restored in a relative peace, calm, stability.

Hell, it was not all that long ago that many Democrats were proclaiming that the VA was "world class medical care". And every veteran that has to use it knows that is a lie.

We have had vets die on waiting lists. Veterans with maggots living and feasting on their wounds inside of VA medical centers. And still nothing is done. The problem is that all Democrats want to do is throw money at the problem, but do absolutely nothing to fix the broken system.
