China’s new killer robot ship that can carry out anti-submarine and anti-ship missions has undergone its first sea trial, according to a Chinese defence industry magazine.
Called the JARI, the unmanned surface vessel is said to be the world’s first USV with multiple roles – anti-submarine, air defence and surface combat – and powerful weaponry.

That is a boat not a ship. A destroyer it is not. Definitely not blue water navy caliber. Multiples of those things could be useful as armed whiskers littoral areas, but there would have to be more than a few.

No, that is nowhere even close to an "Aegis class phased array radar". Give me a freaking break.

That is not robotic, it has windows and a windshield wiper.

And for the RADAR? The AEGIS uses the AN/SPY-1 Radar, 2 to 4 of them, 12 feet across each and 20-30' plus above the waterline. And these are 6 Megawatt RADAR units, requiring a huge amount of power.

This glorified rowboat has two 4 foot RADAR units, maybe 6 feet at most above the waterline.

It is a complete joke. With RADAR that small and low, it will be shortsighted as hell and in even moderate seas it will be blind. I doubt it will be very powerful either, I can't see how they can pack a power plant capable of running all the things they claim to inside such a small hull.

This is about as realistic as the Iranian Stealth jet a few years ago. A complete and utter joke, but a lot of idiots seem to be completely fooled by it. Of course, that is why you do have some like me that look at these things logically, and actually ask pertinent questions instead of just sucking everything they shove into our faces.

It looks like it would be optionally manned. The US and Europe have similar plans for helicopters, jets and boats

Our guys appear to be on it.


The U.S. Navy Wants to Roll out Autonomous Killer Robot Ships

A larger number of smaller drone ships could overwhelm the enemy at sea.

The robotic ship Sea Hunter has completed the first tests at sea. According to the U.S. Navy report, the innovative submarine hunter surpassed all tests including all performance objectives for speed, maneuverability, stability, seakeeping, acceleration/deceleration and fuel consumption.


Defense News reports that the U.S. navy is planning to unleash unmanned surface combatants — military robot warships, basically — to accompany other boats that are controlled by a human crew.

The move may come in response to China and Russia’s heavy investment in similar technologies that could put U.S. aircraft carriers at risk, according to Defense News’ analysis. Naval superiority is a priority for the Chinese military — which the Pentagon wants to challenge with artificial intelligence and automation investments.
