Congress Has Released Its $738 Billion Defense Budget. Here's What's Inside

— $738 billion defense bill
— preserves a 3.1% pay raise for the military
— creates a Space Force that will be incorporated into the Air Force
— eliminates the "widow's tax"
— $5.3 billion earmarked for emergency disaster recovery
— authorizes the SecDef to settle medical malpractice lawsuits
— no defense funds are specifically earmarked for the border wall
— grants 12 weeks of parental leaves for federal workers
— imposes sanctions relating to Russia's Nordstream2 and Turkstream pipelines
— forbids military-to-military cooperation with Russia
— re-authorizes $300 million for Ukraine's coastal/anti-air defense systems
— calls for sanctions on Turkey over its purchase of Russia's S-400 system
— prohibits the transfer to Turkey of F-35 stealth fighter jets

The above more or less constitutes the major 2020 defense bill highlights.

Sounds exciting.

I wonder what would happen if our nation poured as much into renewable energy as we pour into our military... I wish we would stop all this war...
