Hello All,
This is my first post and I look forward to being a part of this online community. I would like to start off by asking: what do you think is the United States' greatest security challenge today?
I know that the DOD is primarily concerned with confronting a near-peer adversary, such as China or Russia, and tensions are building in the Middle East, but I think we are looking too far abroad. Personally, I believe we are getting distracted by events in other hemispheres when we already have enough problems to deal with in our backyard. Mexico is basically the equivalent of having Afghanistan along our southern border, minus the Islamic influence, and it doesn't look like the Mexican government has the ability or will to effectively fight the cartels; not to mention other troubles further downstream in Central and South America.
What do you guys think?
