Vets, what is your opinion on the Syrian pullout?

Do you agree with the pullout as done?

  • No, we should remain there forever as the world's police.

Other- Pullout should have been done long ago. No more blood of our men and women spread in the sands of the ME. Put them on our border. As a matter of fact, a contingent from Fort Campbell KY is doing just that. Going to protect OUR border, not other nations borders abroad

Even our Founding Fathers understood that merely protecting our own borders was not enough to defend and protect the new America. And as our country got bigger, along with our economy and trade being closer and closer linked to the global system that we created, so did our Foreign Policy.

M203.

Loved the Seabees in Cuba (1994) when Cubans, Haitians, and Dominicans were all trying to float to Florida on coke bottle rafts. I can't recall interacting with Seabees any other time.

If you carried an M60 you probably go way back. I think the 240G began replacing it, in regards to at least the Marine Corps, around the Gulf War period. I enlisted in 1992 and I can't remember if I was ever exposed to it before the 240G came along.

Ah, I remember those "aggressor" days. We used to put on communist uniform-type shirts that looked Cuban, but with patches that portrayed us as Eastern Europeans. Halfway through we would hand off the shirts and let the other half play bad guy. The "budda-budda-jam" shouts rang through the Camp Lejeune Forest.
