Trump to Iran They're not going to be happy.

I really try not to be a conspiracy theorist right from the jump, but I'd wager money on the U.S. having done this long before I'd suspect Iran.

What does Iran stand to gain from such an attack?

Neither Saudi Arabia nor the United Arab Emirates attribute blame for the apparent sabotage. They (as of now) have produced no photographs. A Norwegian oil tanker, the MT Andrea Victory, suffered a blow almost at the waterline on the aft hull. Could have been a floating mine, an IED, or a planted limpet mine. (rammed?) The ship is not leaking oil and is in no danger of sinking.

I would say the same thing that Russia has to gain from attacking Ukrainian shipping. Demonstrating their military capability and letting their enemies know that they can cripple Iran's enemies' economies at their pleasure.

President Brokeahontus is working toward having his own Gulf of Tonkin moment.

It won't take anything to rile Trump's base. Mouthfoaming "patriots" can't wait to chest bump each other and get all loud and proud as America attacks somebody, anybody. GOPers won't be far behind. By God, don't **** with America and all that. Soon to follow will be fence sitters. They'll get caught up in the moment. God, mom and apple pie making America great again. (I've seen this movie before. Buy stock in American flags and yellow ribbons.)

And what is America great at? Waging war. We should be. Nodoby spends money on war training and equipment and war waging than the US of A. No nation is even close. It's what we do. As a nation we don't do much waging peace. All things equal we kind of suck at that. No matter. If Trump and his minions want to "make America great again" they need to kill people to do it. Iran will work or Venezuela or both. Right now it looks as if Bolton, Pompeo, and President Stable Genius are getting a stiffy over the thought of attacking Iran.

Soon Trump will be drinking blood during his faux reality road shows. "Bomb Iran" will replace "Lock her up" chants. A measure of the non-Trump GOPers will become caught up in the madness. Fence sitters bored and looking for leadership with balls will turn their heads from the wussed up Democratic false starters they've always known. Donald Trump will pick up some voter support. If the war goes well Trump will immediately have an aircraft carrier named after himself and will declare himself THE true and only world leader as he glides into the election.

That's the plan. However, "the best-laid plans of mice and men often go astray." Or in Trump's case, the best-laid mice and men often plan to stray.

And America will pay. Trump will fail again. Failure is what he does best.

Iran is a Russian client state. It's like comparing a bottom tier NFL team to the local high school team (that gets a small charitable grant from that same NFL team.)

We have them totally boxed in, and their best response to a U.S. attack would be to beg Russia to help them surrender faster.

What pleasurable end do you see from this for Iran (if indeed they did it?)

There is no "pleasurable" end for Iran to an attack by the US on their country.
If you want to know how pleasurable the end would be for the USA, check out our military adventures in Iraq, and, earlier, in Vietnam.

Now the Saudis have had their oil infrastructure damaged by drone strikes. Rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility.........and the band played on.

Oil jumps as Saudi Arabia reports drone '''terrorism''' against pipeline

Oil prices rose sharply Tuesday morning on reports of a drone attack at oil pumping stations in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih called the incident an “act of terrorism.”
Saudi oil production was not interrupted, al-Falih said.

One must wonder: If Saudi oil production was not interrupted, why did oil prices rise sharply?

Agreed.

So why then would Iran provoke with these supposed boat attacks (that are extremely vague on detail?)

Something doesn't ring true here. I can only speculate beyond that.

Agreed. Something definitely doesn't ring true.

It's unlikely that Iran would attack a Saudi boat. Doing so would be very foolish and likely to result in problems for Iran.

If, on the other hand, Trump really wants (or thinks he wants) to start a war, pointing fingers at Iran would be a good way to do it.

you probably should seek some help for your TDS. it can't be healthy living with such hatred.

Don't get me wrong i don't like trump at all and can't wait till he is out of office but you really shouldn't allow him to have so much control over you.

More Curveball Bolton and imaginary WMD.

I'm sure all the Kurds who died coughing up their lungs would be happy to know the gas that killed them was imaginary

What was true at one time in history, does not mean it was true at a later point in history

Iraq did have Chemical weapons, then it got rid of them. At the time of the US invasion in 2002, Iraq did not have a WMD program, nor the vast stockpiles we were promised they had

This attack on those vessels smells like a false flag to me, likely engineered in Washington or Tel Aviv.

Or perhaps.... Riyadh?

Iran has made many, many powerful enemies over the years.

Considering you've never seen an event you didn't think was a false flag.......that's meaningless

When you find yourself in agreement with Thoreau about anything but especially something being a false flag you really need to do some reassessments of your decision making abilities.

Iran is a Russian client state.

No, they are not.

Just because countries have close trading agreements and buy weapons from each other does not mean they are a client state.

Client states do not typically tell the controlling state to go "piss on a rope". Which is something that Iran has absolutely no problem doing to the Russians.

It's unlikely that Iran would attack a Saudi boat. Doing so would be very foolish and likely to result in problems for Iran.

Oh yea. Because everybody knows that Iran has never attacked Saudi shipping. Or the shipping of other nations in the gulf.

Nope, never happened.

So does practically everything else.

To the Conspiracy Theorists, everything is a conspiracy. And amazing how often Israel is assigned the blame. It is almost as if there is some kind of Pavlovian reaction there. "Something happened, it must be the fault of Israel."

And Israel doing it simply makes no sense. They have worked hard for decades to forge their "alliance" with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Trying to blame this on Israel would be like NAZI Germany staging an attack on Italy in order to blame Poland.

The very nature of "false flag" attacks is that the nations target their own assets, not those of an ally. And this is not the first time that limpet mines have been used in this area of the world. The Houthis in Yemen have staged very similar attacks on Saudi ships in the past, and they are allied with Iran.

From what it seems, the ships targeted were all at anchor, just a little ways off shore from the UAE.

This appears at this time to be the work of operatives with somewhat more than normal training. Probably slipping in at night via electric inflatables and attaching the mines at night in the most vulnerable locations.

Norwegian-ship-Andr%C3%A9-Victoria-blast-12.5.19.jpg

This is the damage on the Norwegian flagged Andre Victoria. The damage is from the outside pointing in, showing that the damage was done from the outside. And it is at the water line, so likely not a conventional sea mine. It also lacks the penetration and is to low to be a missile attack. Which is why most experts are suspecting a 5kg limpet mine.
