Russia says it's going to arm a secretive submarine with 6 nuclear 'doomsday' devices

I've got to admit, it's been a while since I've watched a Roland Emmerich film... I'm thinking the last one was The Day After Tomorrow - which wasn't great, but didn't stink either. I'm looking forward to see what he does with Midway later on this year.

The Day After.

Nobody wuz left the day after tomorrow cause it was too late by then to save 'em.

So the movie name was The Day After. And I'll bet you think your genius Putin survived even way back then.

I don't know if you have ever seen "Doctor Strangelove" but it's hardly what I would call a "jingoistic" film, whereas Independence Day, while certainly entertaining as action movies go, was not only one of the most jingoistic cinematic romps since the old John Wayne "Big Jim McLain" films, it reeks of nationalistic overtones which at times border on the absurd.

Doctor Strangelove was a great movie.... another good one that addressed some of the same themes from the same time period was The Bedford Incident - Richard Widmark and Sidney Poitier (even a small cameo by Donald Sutherland) How can you go wrong? I just kind of take Independence Day (and John Wayne films in general) for what they are... good entertainment without all that many intellectual strings attached.

Roland Emmerich directed The Day After?? That's the only movie that ever gave me nightmares as a kid. I always figured Nicholas Meyer directed it, though.

Have you ever researched just how much the Tsar Bomba actually weighed? Sure, I know we're talking 1961 technology and that modern designs are a lot smaller.... but they're not so much smaller that it'd be practical to actually use one in a deployable weapon. Even to develop such weapons would require extensive testing... and the Soviets/Russians haven't had an underground test larger than 1 MT since the mid-70's.

No one has tested one in a while. Not sure it's completely necessary.

Placement is the key. Dislodging a huge chuck of an underwater shelf would do the trick as far as the tsunami part [just like in a major quake]. How much radioactivity actually being dispersed remains to be seen.

You're talking about shrinking a 60,000 lb. bomb down into a torpedo warhead that would have to be - estimating liberally - 1,000 lbs. From a purely practical engineering standpoint, I'd say that's going to require some testing.

I take it you're talking about possibly initiating a submarine landslide with a nuclear device? I have no idea how feasible that would be... has anyone ever done a study on that?

Russia is preparing itself for what it has to prepare itself for, a totally intractable war mongering USA. China is doing the same. How could anyone ever expect anything different when countries are faced with a monster this greedy, this evil, this unchanging in its behavior?

Ohhh Boy... you're on your own there, Ralph.

Oh boy, more russian super weapons. What a stupendous waste. Do we not have the capability to kill the world a hundred times over already?

*LOL* What can I say? Getting to 100% is hard to do.

It is well nigh on impossible but the US has been hanging tough to stay in the low 90%s. And it is highly illustrative of what I described. As we speak the USA has turned its war mongering against China, positioning missiles in countries that it has stolen from the rightful owners, like the Marshall Islands, Guam, Korea, the Chagos Islands, the latter the International Court of Justice has condemned the US and the UK for stealing the Chagos Islanders' lands.

I must admit that I am not surprised. Westerners are incredibly uninformed about the pillaging of their own USA/UK/Australia/... .

Might this help you some?

America Has Been at War 93% of the Time – 222 out of 239 Years – Since 1776

America Has Been at War 93% of the Time – 222 out of 239 Years – Since 1776 - Global ResearchGlobal Research - Centre for Research on Globalization

I can't quite ever nail down whether Global Research of the Centre for Research on Globalization is Trotsky or Mao. Sometimes I think they're Stalinist but that would be neither here nor there. The one thingy they are is anti-America. Absolutely. Your kind of people.

We stole Korea??

The Court of International Arbitration in The Hague ruled unanimously the CCP Boys in Beijing are 100% wrong on their South China Sea claims. Beijing is violating the UN Convention on the International Law of the Sea on every count. Philippines brought the case and won it on a no hit shutout against the Boys. Record strikeouts in that one too. Almost too many Chinese errors to count 'em all. But count 'em all is what the Tribunal did.

Such misdirection. This is what comes when a body has no evidence, facts, ... to support their ideas/fantasies. They are NOT anti-American. Washington's Blog states this frequently. They are anti- what America is not supposed to be, a war mongering, terrorist nation. Read the material, address the facts.

They do like their facts.

They're a virtual fact machine.

Well oiled and finely tuned. Very expensive to run too.

More misdirection and a total avoidance of the facts/evidence. Truthfully, I am not at all surprised.

Yes, I'm sure you're used to it.

You are the one avoiding. Being at war for 93% of its existence screams war mongering nation. Stealing land from Mexico screams war mongering nation.
