Ret. Admiral: President Trump’s Actions Are Making Many Military Leaders Uncomfortable

Well written article about the extraordinary ethical and constitutional difficulties for the US military leadership in a Trump presidency.

The author was a four-star combatant commander (Supreme Allied Commander Europe/U.S. European Command/U.S. Southern Command) under presidents Bush and Obama.

Trump only wants to drain the military swamp & launch a few nukes; let a kid play with his toyz for cryin out loud

By now the guys with their "ethical" stuff have become a dime a dozen. Nobody gives a hoot anymore about their "well written" (grin) opinions ... except for the liberals, when the article is against Trump. ha ha ha

They are either peddling a book or promoting their own business/position.

Inorite? Morals and ethics are inherently liberal and have no place in nor meaning to the modern "conservative" market segment

Please: Let us all be well behaved during Americas rapid decline.....

I see the usual cons that disrespect our military have arrived.

Given what a wreck the Navy has become in recent years in no small part due to the failure of the officer corps going out and getting a spokesman who has been retired since 2013 is a good idea.

Then there is this:

OOPS!

You truncated that quote. Here's the rest :
I was vetted for Vice President by Hillary Clinton and interviewed for a Cabinet position by then President-elect Trump — at their requests.

Being disingenuous doesn't seem very Zen.

What better time to give up our beliefs, morals and ethics then when they're needed the most?
Those pesky things are just for liberals anyway, right?

Turned down twice, eh ... is that what is known as a double-loser?!?
Inorite?
Such a ****ing loser!
An Admiral and Supreme Allied Commander at NATO.
Loser-ass mother****er don't know **** compared to internet tuffies like you and me, right?

Because the New Puritans constantly work to take my freedom and as one of the Free Folk I am not having it.

I dont want to go to UTOPIA anyways, these bus drivers can sit and spin as far as I am concerned.

Iirc, the convo started off noting how ethical complaints about Trump are so prolific that you can get them for a "dime a dozen".

Now you're wanting to talk about morality police or something?

Maybe some other time then....

I see the usual cons that disrespect our military have arrived.

Disrespecting somebody who happens to have served is not disrespecting the military.

I do not have much respect for him, to be honest. But I do not disrespect him either in that. I simply see him as yet another retired Admiral. The first half of his career as a surface warfare officer seems to have gone well, with him rising to command a destroyer after 17 years in uniform. But the latter half of his career saw him moved between the usual political type positions where he commanded a desk instead of a quarterdeck.

Turned down twice, eh ... is that what is known as a double-loser?!?

Well, for the first one I am not surprised. Could you see a career military person running as a Democrat?

The last military person I can remember that ran for the Top posts as a Democrat was Al Gore, who served in the Army for 2 years. Before that, you have to go back to Lloyd Bentsen, then Walter Mondale. The last Democrat who at least attempted to have a Military Career was probably Jimmy Carter. He was picked as one of the future commanders for USS Seawolf, but his father died and he was given a release from active duty to return home to run the family business.

But he did stay active in the Naval Reserve for another 8 years. A total of 18 years in uniform, close enough that I consider that to have been a "career".

No, I can not see the Democrats ever nominating a career military person for President or Vice-President in my lifetime. They are simply to set against the military today, always using them as the enemy it seems.

Unless for some reason they flip things around if it suits them.
